**About A Month and a Half Ago**

Kat's P.O.V.

We had made our way to the small cabin out in the middle of the woods. No. Not the horror movie Cabin in the Woods. This would be our hide out for a few days, seeing as how anywhere else, people would rat them out in an instant. People only thought of money and self-pleasure.

I sat against the wall, apparently my favorite place to be, and sighed as Kai grabbed his things. "Its been a couple days so I have to go get some supplies." He grabbed his phone and shoved it in his pocket, turning to look at us as he twirled the keys on his index finger.

"Try not to murder each other, please. Just because you can both regenerate doesn't mean you can just kill each other randomly, got it?" He smiled and winked at me, causing heat to rise to my cheeks.

"No promises." I muttered, glancing at a pale, deadpan face. He seriously had nothing snarky to comment? I'm surprised, to say the least. His gaze met mine for a split second before I snapped back to where Kai was previously standing.

So much for goodbye...

My eyes scanned the room as an awkward silence fell over us. Geez... This is really weird...

I looked down, my winking Chat Noir boxers smirking up at me. A small smile graced my lips at the cuteness of them.

"So? You and Kaito, huh? Didn't know you got that flustered over him just winking at you." You could practically hear the smirk plastered on his lips.

"What's it to ya, Nagai? You jealous?" I spat back, venom dripping from every syllable. He looked me up and down, scanning my attire; A black tank top, sports bra, and my beloved boxers. It wasn't really a necessity to pack those, but it was a boring day so I had chosen to wear them. See? They had a purpose. And it was hot as hell.

He narrowed his eyes as they met mine again. Amber red clashed blood red for a moment before an idea popped into my head as he spoke. "Like I'd want you looking at me like that. Besides, you're flustered way too easy to have any fun with." His smirk grew again as he said that.

I leaned up, getting on all fours and slowly crawling over to where he was sitting, making sure to sway my hips and bite my lip, looking over him slowly. I had felt a tank top strap fall, giving more view of my cleavage. My eyes glossed over with fake lust.

His orbs stared into mine, forcing himself to stay composed. His smirk slowly faded off his face and landed in a firm line as I inched closer until we were only centimeters apart, his gaze past me, staring at the wall now.

"Whats the matter, Kei? Cat got your tongue?" I smirked, a 'meow' following my tease as his breath caught in his throat.

His eyes eventually trailed back to me, looking over the exposed skin, mouth opening to say something back. He only made a humming sound, instead, as he swallowed hard, his head leaning back, hitting the wall behind him.

I leaned forward and lightly grazed my lips and teeth over his neck. That probably wasn't the smartest idea because the second our skin made contact, a shock was sent through my spine and everything went numb like I wasn't in control anymore.

My eyes closed as one of his hands gently grabbed my shoulder, pushing me back slightly. The feeling of our skin contact sent volts through my body, a small moan leaving my lips. My eyes shot open at that and the feeling of something soft barely graze my lips. I pushed away roughly, my face paling at the realization.

What the hell just happened? My thoughts ran in circles around my head as I stared at the red-eyed boy sitting with the same shocked expression in front of me. I flopped onto my butt, pushing away from him and sitting with my book in the corner, trying to get my mind off the current thoughts running through my head.

What the fuck just happened? Why were we so close?! Was he going to kiss me? I was just trying to mess around and then it went almost like I was watching a movie. I wasn't controlling myself at that moment. That wasn't me.

Throughout the day, I couldn't help but glance over to the ravenette, but he didn't seem affected by what happened at all. Was I dreaming or did he just not care? I stared at my red lines. There's no way that was because of the link, was it? If the link was that strong and had that effect, maybe I shouldn't talk to him or be closer than 10 feet at all times... Just for safety measures.

//Time Skip!//

The next day was interesting. If interesting meant completely silent and a cloud of tension between the two boys. Like there was something that happened between them while I was asleep. I dunno. Maybe Kai finally gave Kei a piece of his mind? God, I hope so.

I sat up from laying my head on Kai's lap and looked between the two. There was definitely something wrong. Kei looked like he had no emotions, as usual, but his body language said he was terrified of what Kai would do while Kai was giving off a bad vibe. Almost a murderous one, at that.

"Kai..?" I whispered as I looked up at him. That seemed to snap him out of his thoughts before glancing at me.

"Yes, Kitty?" he just stared down at me. His eyes were so gorgeous. Even when I was pissed beyond control, those shimmering golden irises always calmed me. Soothed my soul, almost. He always made me feel wanted, needed every time he was near me.

That's when I made a decision that changed a lot of things. It was a spur of the moment kinda thing but I'd waited so long for him to do it... And now that I was linked to someone? And Kei Nagai of all Ajin? I had to do it. To make sure.

I leaned towards him, taking his face in my hands and pressed my lips to his. I held him like that for a moment longer and waited for him to react.

Nothing.

He knew.

There was nothing else I could do.

I pulled away and tears rolled down my cheeks. He rejected me. Whether it was because of the lines or because he never felt anything didn't matter at this point.

Who I thought was the love of my life rejected even the smallest of kisses. I slowly opened my eyes to see him just staring at me, a sad expression on his face.

"Kitty, I..." That was all he could get out before I jumped to my feet and left the shack. I couldn't do it anymore. That was it. He took every last ounce of hope from me. Now I had nothing.

I guess I could take a walk while I'm out here. Might as well walk home and turn myself in. If he couldn't even say anything about it, he must've rejected it cause of the lines. His eyes said it all. He might've loved me before but now that was gone. He gave up...

Kei's P.O.V.

I stared in disbelief at the blonde sitting on the adjacent wall. I wasn't paying attention to them and now Kaito is sitting with a solemn expression and Kat is outside the shack doing who knows what. She looked like she was crying too... What the hell happened?

"Kaito... What-" I was cut off by him raising his hand at me. "I don't wanna talk about it." That's all he said before laying on the ground and turning his back to me.
