-Bells Pov-

My vision is blank. I don't hear anything, nor do I feel anything, all I have are blurred thoughts. Suddenly, a loud piercing stream of light explodes on my face, blinding me by its brightness. I blink, opening my eyes. The first things I notice are the stale walls surrounding this reeking room and the 'get well' gifts that are stacked on the foot of my bed. I hear a beeping machine, which is quite comforting considering the lonely state that I am currently in.

That's when realisation hits me, I'm in a hospital.

Memories from the day of the racing competition come flooding back into my mind, and that rather familiar Citroen car that hit me. Sweat streaks down my face out of fear and anxiety, and I start shaking vigorously. The machine connected to me starts beeping loudly, due to the rhythm of my heart beating faster. A doctor comes rushing in, checking if I'm okay.

"Finally, you're awake Miss Henderson, that's great. I'm Dr Andrew" the doctor says.

"Yes I am, and please call me Bella. How long have I been in here?" my voice comes out hoarse and barely audible because of the dryness of my throat. Dr Andrew hands me a cup of water, which I immediately gulp down.

"Four days, almost a week" I instantly spit out the water I was drinking out of shock. I've been out of it for four days? Damn.

Dr Andrews chuckles, "You should actually take it easy, to be honest with you, because four days is quite a bit considering the severe state of the crash. We expected you to be in here longer. Your family members are outside waiting for you, and so is..." he frowns slightly, "Lee? I think that was her name" he sends a questioning look towards me.

"Yeah, she's my best friend"

"Yeah, she was very worried about you. Took us quite a long time to convince her that you weren't dead" that managed to get a croaky laugh out of me. I can imagine her causing a big chaos; her screaming her head off and telling the doctors to let her come in my room, and there's like... four people holding her back from going in.

"Anyways, they're all sleep deprived, considering they haven't left your side ever since you've been admitted into the hospital"

"Can you bring them in please?"I reply.

"Sure Miss Henderson, but after a while because we need to discuss the damage the car crash caused" Dr Andrew says, a serious expression on his face.

"Did I not tell you to call me Bella? And sure Doctor, hit me with whatever" I reply, trying to lighten up the mood.

"Okay, sorry. Firstly, you have brain damage; a blood vessel popped which caused a lot of blood loss, so you need to rest and not stress yourself out. You may feel lightheaded and faint, so you need to drink plenty of water" Ahhh, well that explains why I feel so dizzy.

"I will prescribe you some medicines to help with the pain and any migraines. You've also suffered psychological injuries. It is short-term, but you still need to be careful, because you will suffer from anxiety and depression" All of this from a simple car crash? Okay, maybe it wasn't simple. It hurt like a motherfucker.
