I have my new uniform on. I had a hard time leaving. But I remember why I am doing this. The copter landed, I switched to the humvie and went to camp. I put my stuff up and checked my gun. I went out on a perimeter check. I heard heard movement behind a pile of rocks. I walk towards it. It goes silent. I turn around and see a bomb set off. I flew back past the pile of dirt. Then shot in the legs. Then I had guns in my face. I groan. They drag me to their vehicle. They put a bag over my head but can still feel guns in my face. We drove for a while until we stopped. I was dragged out and thrown on rocks. Then there was a slammed door.
"Are you okay?" A mans voice asked.
'Well if you count on getting blown by a bomb the shot a couple times then thrown into a car with barrels in my face the whole ride then thrown in here alright then yes.' I said taking the bag off. I blink a couple time. Then look at my legs.
'Ouch I wonder if I have serious injures later on. In life.' I said.
I look over to see a man from camp sitting by the wall.
'Hello my name is Sammy' I said.
I look at my legs and he does too.
"My name is Paul"
He comes over to look at my legs. That's still bleeding.
"Your going to bleed out" he says.
'Nah this isn't the first time. I layer on a bomb a couple times.' I took out a bullet and watched it mend back up. I did the same thing over and over again. Now I was doing knee caps. I took a deep breath. I grabbed the bullet from my left leg. There was a pop but it healed up. I went to right leg. I took the bullet out to hear the pop.
I get up and walk around a little.
'Aww man the President gave me this uniform. And I have to make it home or my brother will cry. I made a promise. How long have you been here?' I asked Paul.
"Two weeks" he said.
'I left by then. I'm sorry I will get us out of here.' I said.
"It's not your fault." He said.
'Hello why are we here for?'
"You are prisoners of war. You will be traded for slaves things like that." Said a man that is walking closer.
'Well not to be offensive but can I get water?' I asked.
The guard came in front of the cell, but was far enough for me not able to get him. He tossed a bottle of water in the cell and walked away.
'Well he's a charmer. By the way if I wake you up I'm sorry. I don't sleep. I haven't slept for two years now.' I said looking back at him.
'So let's get to know each other Paul.' I said.
"Okay my name is Paul Hernandez. I'm thirty years old. I have a wife and a son. My wife's name is Savanna. And my sons name is Abel. He is eight years old." Paul said.
"Okay my name is Sammy McStiles. I'm sixteen about to turn seventeen in a month or so. I ran away from home when I was fourteen. My parents were drunks 24/7 and they would beat me until I was out cold. Well one day it was quiet and I thought I was only one in the house. So I was getting ready for school. It turns out they were suffering from a hangover. The cops showed up for either for missing school a bunch or domestic disturbance. Either way my parents would beat me until I die. I ran away. I saved people of New York during the night and slept during the day. However it changed when I was kidnapped on the way to a roof. They had tied me down on a table. They waited till I was awake before bringing me pain. They injected colorful serums. I was in pain I wanted to pass but I felt energized. I escaped and saved people at night again. I was accepted into a family that cared for me. Although I'm not legally adopted the general let's me live there. I adopted them into my heart. I now have a little brother Charlie he's eight years old. Then Sophia is my ma. I made a promise to come back as they promised to get good grades and stay out of trouble. This is my third tour and the President gave me a name that is on the back of my uniform. The Presidential Soldier.' I said.
"They? Nickname? Third tour?" He asked.
'The Presidents daughter and little brother. I saved the President from an execution attempt. And I went on my first tour when I was fourteen. I had permission and had training records set up that so far no one has beat.' I said.
'You can go to sleep Paul ill keep watch.' I said. And he went to sleep and I stared out into the dark hallway.
