Chloe quivered at Maxs side.

The flow of tears from her face hit the ground.

Her still body standing in the sunlight.

And her eyes locked on the darkened coffin that stood before her.

Her friend was in there,
calmly sleeping forever.

She would never be able to talk to her, to tell her thanks for all she's done.

She was in a eternal rest, and there was nothing she could do about it.

Everyone was gone.

The funeral was over.

But there she sat in the short cut grass, infront of the tall new grave stone.

She cried as she ran her frail fingers over the engraved words.

*Here lyes Rachel Amber*

Chloe stared down at the grass before feeling a soft touch placed on her shoulder.

She turned her head around to find Max standing there with concern on her face.

Max looked down at her as she spoke.

"Chloe... We have to go.."

Chloe rubbed her teary eyes while sighing.

Max held down her hand as Chloe reached up and grabbed it, pulling herself out of the grass.

Max lowered her brows and softly squeezed her hand.

"Come on"

They began to walk through the graveyard full of gravestones to Chloes truck.

Chloe walked around and pulled herself into the truck, fishing for her keys in her small bag.

She couldn't use her pockets cause of her striped blue dress that she was wearing on this occasion.

She pulled out the keys that mangled in her hand.

She slipped the key in and started up the beat up truck.

And there they sat, silently driving home on the depressing  day.

Chloe plopped back down on the couch and sighed, resting her head in her hands.

She could feel Max sit down next to her and place her hand on her back, trying her best to comfort her.

Chloe choked on her breath, gasping for air as she cried.

Her hands were soaked and Max was as quiet as the wind.

She was sad and she knew it.

Chloe shifted her head up and faced Max with a sleek face and puffy red eyes.

Max lowered her brows and stared at her depressed friend, not knowing what to do.

Max opened her mouth to let out a few words, but before she could say anything her cold body was replaced with a warm feeling.

Chloe was holding her tightly, like her life depened on it.

The punk cried on her freckled bare shoulder.

Her emotions were every where, but Max didn't mind because that's what friends do.

Chloe sobbed while she staggered to spill a few words.

"Thank you so much Max... You've been there for me this whole time.. Through the good and bad...Through today and every other one. Max I-I love you"

The brunette widened her eyes and her gaze at the punk sitting before her.

Those were the words she wanted to hear from her forever.

Those were the words she cherished.

And this was the girl that said it.

Max moved her lowered arms to Chloes back and held them there, letting her cry on her shoulder.

Max un-tensed herself and relaxed, all while the words spilled out.

"I... I love you to Chloe."

Max removed herself from Chloe and placed her hand on Chloes chin, Making her face her.

She used her thumb to rub the tears forming in the corner of her eyes.

Max formed a smile and gazed into Chloes ocean blue eyes.

"Chloe.. I want to be with you. Not just as your friend, but as more. I liked you since day one and I always will. I can't control the way I feel about others but I can control the way I feel about you. Chloe will you.."

Before Max could finish the sentence her lips were cut of by another.

Chloe softly cupped her cheeks and held Max close to her.

Max placed her hands on Chloes lap as she leaned in closer.

Their lips moved in sync with one another and their faces were red as a tomato.

When they broke the pair gasped for air.

Max opened her eyes to find Chloe staring at her with dreamy blue orbs.

Max smiled and pressed her forehead against Chloes in a fit of laughter.

Chloe closed her eyes as she whispered.

"I always thought I was going to be the one to ask you~"

Max laughed and placed her hands on Chloes cheek, playfully pushing her away.

Chloe laughed in return and gently grabbed Maxs wrist.

"Oh come on Caulfeild you know you love me~"

Her words caused Max to lean her head back in a clutter of laughter.

She softened her look and faced Chloe with a warm smile spread on her freckled face.

"I do Chloe... And I always will..."
