Once I walked into my homeroom, the intercom yelled, " All ladies and gentlemen from ages 18 and up report to the auditorium!!" Then all of the entire class got up and marched into -what seemed like to me a deathtrap- the auditorium.
"LINE UP IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER," One of the 'they' shouted at us as a vein popped out of his neck. 'I WANT EACH OF YOU TO MARCH UP HERE AND SIGN WHETHER OR NOT IF YOU'RE GOING TO BECOME ONE OF US, YOU SCUMBAGS!" What am I going to do? I'm terrified! They did kill my mother, father, and older brother, and left me and Beth to live with our crazy Aunt Jenna. Then, as it was only five minutes into my thoughts the officer called my name...

As I neared the officer ,as bravely as I could with my shoulders up straight and my head held high, as confidently as I could muster the sound I said, " Yes. I will join."
"WELL, WELL, WELL, LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE! THE FIRST SIGN UP! LOOKS LIKE SHE'S THE BRAVEST OF YUNS ALL! WELL, LITTLE FUCKER, SIGHN YOUR NAME AND WALK BACK IN LINE!"
I nodded and did as he told me.
As time progressed there were only 40 people out of 169 people. It was me, Lilith, new kid, Dexter, Mary Ann, and Dakota, my next door neighbors, and a whole lot more whom I didn't know the names of.
The officer approached us and screamed - once again - "GATHER YOUR BELONGINGS AND MEET ME HERE TOMORROW MORNING AT 6 AM SHARP. ANYONE THAT IS LATE WILL BE TRACKED DOWN AND KILLED. NOW GO HOME YOU WORTHLESS PIECES OF SHIT'S!!!"
