Collette's POV
"Come on, you can do this!" were the words I spoke to myself when I stood in front of the main entrance..
The taxi driver was long gone, the jerk. He said that this place was a dark one and that people who went here, were never seen again.
Instead of helping me unload my stuff he stayed in the car like a real pussy.
I sighed, grabbed my bag and suitcase and walked up the giant stairs.
Once inside I felt a cold breeze..
While the chills went down my spine I called, "Hello? Jo?".
The place seemed abandoned, which is weird because I made a phonecall yesterday, so they know I'm coming.
I looked on my watch, "Hmm 9:43.." I mumbled and looked back up.
"Hello Collette".
I bounced back and could hardly suppress a scream.
"O-oh god, you scared me Jo" were the first words I could get out of my mouth while I was still shaking.
"I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention. Shall we?" she smiled kindly and I nodded.
While we made our way to the cel of the twins I noticed Jo was very quiet..
"Jo, can I ask you something?" I asked while we waited for the elevator to come.
"Sure" she answered quickly.
"What happened to the other psychologists who helped the twins?".
She froze and looked at me.
"Does it matter? I thought that you made a decision?"
"Well, I have, but I was just wondering why the others have failed to cure them?".
"They have not failed, you're the first one who accepts their rules" she said and walked into the elevator.
"W-wait.. what?" I stuttered and followed her. Jo went quiet again. This is not good..
When the elevator stopped on the second floor I started to panick. Suddenly my legs became heavy and my mind blank.. I didn't know what to do.
"Come on, they're waiting" Jo said and grabbed my arm to pull me out of the elevator. She dragged me to the entrance of the hallway with the cells and typed in the code to open the door.
We walked towards the end of the hallway where the cell of the twins was.
"Jo stop.. STOP!" I shouted while I pulled myself loose.
She stopped and turned around.
"I'm sorry Collette, it's just that you're the first person who is willing to participate in our experiment" she said and started to laugh.
"Experiment? What do you mean?" I whispered and stepped away from her.
"Oh didn't we tell you? A couple of years ago, my men and I made up an experiment, it's about how strong the human mind is.. I will explain it to you, the twins inside the cell are clearly insane, they like to murder for fun. You as a sane person knows that it's wrong to murder people, your challenge is to get them back on the right path. If you don't succeed you will get killed, that means that the insane human mind wins, if you succeed and the twins are cured it means that the sane human mind wins! We want to find out which mind is stronger".
For a second I thought she was joking..
sadly she wasn't.
"You're fucking crazy! This is the most fucked up experiment I've ever heard of! You seem to think that this all is a game!! Wake up! No! I'm not going to do this!!" I said and grabbed my suitcase out of her hand before walking away.
"Guards!" I heard from behind me and out of nowhere two big ass men came towards me and grabbed me. They brought me back to Jo who was holding a recorder.
"You can't leave, we have an arrangement" she said and played the recorder.
I heard my own voice, from the phonecall I made earlier, saying I agreed with all the conditions and could not wait to begin. She had me.
While she stopped the recorder and put it away, I was released by the two men.
"So, do we have a deal?" she smiled.
I slowly nodded, grabbed my stuff and walked to the cell door of the twins.
"The best of luck, Collette! Don't be sad, maybe you win!" Jo laughed while she and her guards walked away.
I smiled, maybe I'm not so sane at all.. I mean I'd love to kill a certain person right now.
After Jo and her men were gone I heard a beeping sound and immediately the door in front of me unlocked. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes for a second and thought about my family.
"God what have I done.." I whispered and pushed the door open.
Of course they both were waiting for me at the table.. Freaks..
I sighed, closed the door behind me and put my stuff aside.
They said nothing, so I walked over to the table and sat down on a chair on the opposite of them.
I looked them in the eye and waited for one of them to say something.
Larry was the first one who made a movement, he grabbed something out of his pocket, laid it on the table and shoved it towards Laurent's hand.
"Here's your 20 euros, fucker" he whispered and a smile started to appear on Laurent's face.
My mouth fell open, "Are you fucking serious?!" I said and felt anger growing inside of me.
"What??" Laurent answered innocently while he put away the money, "We've made a bet, so what..".
His joy made me want to punch him and instead of doing it, I relaxed and breathed in and out.
Think Colette, think.. These two want power over you, they're insane, remember that!
"Well somebody's a bit cranky.." Laurent continued and rolled his eyes.
Larry sighed, "You can unpack your stuff if you want to, we're done here" he said and gave his brother a certain look.
I nodded, stood up, grabbed my suitcase and bag while walking towards the back of the room where the two entrances of the bedrooms were.
"Which one is mine?" I asked.
"The one on your right" Larry answered softly.
"Stop. Being. So. Nice. To. Her!!!" Laurent suddenly shouted and grabbed Larry's head and smashed it on the table.
There was a loud bang and Larry groaned in pain..
"Are you out of you mind!" I screamed and rushed over to Larry to check on him. I sat down next to him, but suddenly froze when I noticed that he was laughing..
He looked up at me and smiled.
"You are so easy to read, you know that? God, what a bit of kindness can do" he whispered and grabbed my neck, while lightly squeezing it.
Whitin seconds everything went black..Hi everyone! Here's the next chapter 😊 Enjoy!
