I couldn't help but giggle when soft fabric graced by cheek, lighting a flame of warmth in my belly. Light swelled in my face but was covered abruptly by a looming dark shadow.
Clouds maybe? Was a storm coming our way or something?"Oi.Oi. I think they're all asleep," an uninterested voice oozed out like ice; cold yet cool.
I felt someone move next to me, and a distinct weight was draped over my upper body. What was it? Was I still dreaming...
"I think she's waking up."
"This one to. Oh boy, are they in for a surprise. Haha~"
"Just thinking 'bout its making me hungry."Wait a sec, those voices sound familiar... it couldn't be... no,no,no,no!
I shot up from my spot, only to fall down to the floor thanks to the heavy weight clasped around my body. The air was knocked out of me, causing a chain reaction of sorts.
Shi-Sho's soft snoring came to an abrupt stop, and I could see the top of her head shoot up like a bullet. Looking down, I noticed the weight that was keeping me down was a lanky arm with a single black chain circling around the wrist area. I gulped, oh geez.
"Kuso!" I heard her hiss, prompting a squeal of joy from Nico and gasps of amazement from both Uno and Rock. "We fell asleep."
I swiveled my head to the right, seeing Jyugo's mismatched irises glued to the wall, his hand gripping my hip. Was something bothering him? His hand seemed tense and that demeanor, I wonder what he was thinking about.
I shakingly poking the inmate in his side, gaining his full attention. He didn't say anything, just stared at me with a bored expression. I felt my cheeks slowly heat up under his stoic gaze. After about a few seconds of silence, I saw him raise an eyebrow, as if ask: yes?
"C-Could you let me go?"Jyugo silently released me from his grasp, but pulled me up by the back collar of my shirt, keeping me in close proximity to his body.
Shi-Sho, in this time, managed to compose her disheveled hair, making it look like she had just visited a solan. Her shades never left her body, of course, but her plump lips strained into a thin line."What time is it?" She asked, directing her question to the only one who was listening to her; Nico. Uno was able to slyly sneak away from Shi-Sho's gaze, propping himself closer to Mishaa, drawing out a deck of cards, flipping a card with black hearts over, drawing it up to his lips. Entertaining Mishaa's short locks between his fingers, as if claiming the Korean for himself.
Rock to had slipped over to Mia, placing a large hand on her small head, rubbing her hair as if she was a kitten. Okay, so that image was sorta cute. I mean, it showed a side of Rock I'd have never expected, a softer side. To think, a giant had a gentle streak. Of course, this giant was in jail, so this was a pretty big shock to me.
I glanced back at Shi-Sho, my tall friend, who was shaking in annoyance. Was Nico bothering her that much, but it was so unnatural seeing Shi-Sho lose her temper or give into other people's attitudes. She was so stoic, repelling emotion from others like bug spray... so why... unless. For the short time I had grown to now the chinese, I realized she had never fallen in love, nor seemed to know the meaning of the word. Unlike Mishaa, Mia and myself, we had crushes over our middle to high school career, Shi-Sho never took to kindly to those soft, mushy feelings. So could that be why she was currently scooting away from Nico as best as she could.
I got up to help her, maybe comfort her from these unknown feelings, but Jyugo pulled me back down next to him.
"Let 'em figure it out," he whispered, flicking his tongue against sharp teeth.
I stiffly nodded, feeling a cool warmth spread slowly, like a cold, along my shoulders. Looking to the side, I saw black fingernails raking along my arm. A shiver ran along my spine, but oddly, this time around I didn't feel the need to squirm away from his touch.
