02.

The office was quite quiet for it being a Monday. The weather today was unusual, especially to London nativists. The atmosphere around me was peculiar, nobody talking. I slumped into my chair as I spun around to talk to my partner, Tony. To my dismay, Tony was not there.

"Hey Chris!" I yelled across the aisle. He popped his head up from his computer and raised an eyebrow.

"Where's Tony?" He shrugged and got back to work.

My co-worker, Josephine turned to me. "New intern. Tony got laid off last night." My mouth gaped open as I sat in shock. I sat wondering as I chewed on my pencil, reading through a manuscript. Doors opened and footsteps rang through the office but I didn't care enough to look.

I felt breathing on my neck, getting agitated. "Hey, partner."

My eyes became huge as I saw the new intern. He wore a leather jacket, dark jeans and work boots; similar to what I had seen him in a few weeks back at the diner. I couldn't help but move my gaze to his newly shaved face, examining his no longer bloodshot eyes.

"I would let you stare longer but I think you have work to do." He smirked, turning his back towards me. I let out a sigh as I rolled my eyes getting back to work.

My head snapped towards the clock, realizing six hours had passed, my cue to leaving the office. I grabbed my keys as my heels clicked harshly onto the ground, making my way over to the elevator which was now opening. I slouched back against the wall as the doors were closing, abruptly stopped by a large hand. To my dismay, Zayn.

"Good god," I muttered beneath my breath as he took his place standing next to me.

"It must be fate, you know, us running into each other like this." He said strongly, more cocky than he intended.

"Or you're just following me." I huffed, moving away from him. Silence overcame us before the doors of the elevator 'dinged' open; indicating my freedom. My pace quickened, making my way towards my car, unlocking it in the process. I had seemed to have lost him as I drove slowly home.

A red car was parked in my driveway as I slowly pulled up next to it. I blinked multiple times before I recollected myself to find Zayn sitting on my porch.

"How the hell do you know where I live?" I screamed at him, slamming my car door.

"There's multiple things you don't know about me, honey." His raspy voice rang through my ears sending a chill up my spine.

"What do you want from me?"

"I'm just doing my job." He spoke blandly, backing away from my porch. He began to turn around to walk back to his car as a thought sprung in my mind.

"Your job is to follow me?" I asked, scared. He turned around and gave me a blank yet questionable stare that I knew had answered my question.
