1. Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system, and the second gas giant to orbit the sun after Jupiter.
2. Saturn is the lightest planet in the solar system. If you could get an ocean big enough and put saturn on it, It would float!
3. Saturn is best known for it's fabulous ring system, which was discovered in 1610 by the Astronomer Galileo Galilei. This ring system was made when one of Saturn's moons had gotten too close and was torn apart by the strong gravitational forces of Saturn, turning it into little chunks of ice and rock. Due to it's thickness, Astronomers also believe that Asteroids and comets where captured and torn apart as well, giving it's rings a more bigger and thicker look.
4. Saturn can be seen with the naked eye. It is the fifth brightest object in the solar system and is also easily studied through binoculars or a small telescope.
