Chapter 11: Family Day for 'Us Villain Kids'

 "Children, excuse me um, as you know this Sunday is Family day at Auradon Prep and since your parents can't be here due to distance, we've arranged for a special treat."  

"I don't see anything nor do I hear." It's times like these I feel extremely bad for the others. Something bad is bound to happen during this conversation. I must've zoned out while they were talking to each other because Mal is calling me up to the screen. 

I jog out of my seat knowing I was called up for a weird reason and hear Maleficent say, "Ah Claire, there you are. Are you doing your share of participation in the quest?" 

"Yes." 

"Perfect," She motions for me to come closer to the screen. "Don't tell the others but sometimes I think you're the evilest in the group." 

"Mom, you know we can still hear you right?" 

"Oh. Well, whatever it's out now." I step back to give the others the spotlight they deserve. "MAL! I uh miss you." Of course she does. 

How can parents be like this and force everything on their kids? Just because you failed at all your hopes and dreams doesn't mean you get to live vicariously through them. 

"CARLOS! IS THAT A DOG? Yes, I do understand it would make the perfect size for earmuffs!" 

"He's the perfect size for a PET! This dog loves me and I love him. FYI, mother, your dog is Stuffed! So give it a rest." It's been a while since I thought of him standing up to his mother and I can't believe I've lived to actually witness it first hand. Guess he's finally had enough.

"Why don't you go sell a toaster, you two-bit salesman!" There it is! I had a feeling it was coming up at any moment. I go back to my seat to collect my things since I have more supplies than they do. 

"M, what do you think our parents will do to us if we don't pull this off?" 

"I think they will be quietly disappointed in us but ultimately, proud of us for doing our best." 

"Really?" 

"No, I think we are definitely goners. Yeah."

"And we'll be coming in from here. I will be in the very front while you all will be in the balcony. Carlos?" 

"Okay, so I'll find our limo so we can break the barrier and get back on the Island with the wand." 

"Evie, you will use this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he will be out like a light." 

"Okay. M? You wanna break Ben's love spell?" 

"It's happened before so what's the harm?" 

"Yeah. You know for after. I've just been thinking, you know when the villains finally do invade Auradon and begin to loot, and kick everyone out of their castles, and destroy their leaders and everything that is good and beautiful, I think Ben being in love with me just seems a little extra... cruel."

I couldn't sleep and apparently neither could Evie. I turn and see her looking at the test she got a B+ on in chem. I couldn't take it anymore. "Evie," 

"Yeah." 

"My mom's not Mother Gothel." 

"What?" 

"Shh. I know and I'm sorry. Before I tell you this will you promise to not tell Mal?" 

"Yeah, of course." 

"So it all started when-," And from there I tell her everything that's happened up to now and she reacts fairly well to it. By the time Mal comes back we're still talking and I'm just hoping she didn't hear anything. 

"Why are you guys still awake?" 

Evie says," We were just talking." 

"Well, could you talk tomorrow and on your bed because I'm tired as heck and I don't want to stay up listening to you two talk about makeup and boys." 

"Alright."
