Criminal Minds One Shots

Devastating.

Emily Prentiss and Derek Morgan were talking and laughing joyfully while on their lunch break driving in the sleek black FBI SUV when they got a call from Hotch.
Derek stared at Prentiss curiously and said, "That's strange, Hotch never tries to call us at lunch break. Hold on a sec, Em", He finished.
"Its Morgan, What's going on, Hotch?"
With his normal tone of utter seriousness but this time sounding significantly urgent, Hotch started,
"Derek, I'm going to need you and Prentiss to head over to 487 Parker ave. To check out the crime scene. We have a Jane Doe, Happened right now, suprising that this is an FBI case in the Quantico area, but anyhow, The unsub has just escaped, and there are 2 witnesses there currently. and we need you over there now." Hotch stated in a serious business like manner.
"Got it. Thanks Hotch", he said passively an snapped the phone shut.
"Urgent murder scene. 2 witnesses and the unsub just fled", Morgan explained briefly to Emily.
She nodded, not saying anything, understanding. She knew this could be a very important case.
They just pulled into the house and got quickly out of the car.
As they walked into the house they examined for a break in, notifying that no, there wasn't. Then they immediately looked at the body. Emily's heart rose to her throat. And walked closer, slowly.
'It couldn't be' she thought. She bent down to get a closer look and her dreadful suspicions came true. Emily felt like her heart stop and fell to the ground, her mouth agape. Her mind was spinning, she couldn't believe what she was processing. Morgan rushed over immediately and stooped at her level.
"Em, what's going on? Please say something," He pleaded urgently and cautiously while helping her up. she started to shed tears.
"Kate Elizabeth Prentiss. That's my Mom."
Derek widened his eyes in disbelief.
"Oh my god, Baby Girl," He whispered to her as he pulled her in and she came crashing into his body. He could feel her body shaking as she let out full heart wrenching sobs into his chest. Her arms squeezed tight around him
as he rubbed her back. He then mumbled into her hair, his chin resting on her head and said,
"I'm so sorry E. You dont deserve this, Baby Girl. It'll be ok, It'll be ok, It'll be ok..." He repeated to her.
And suddenly Emily had the strangest feeling. She had the overwhelming sense that everything would be ok, as Derek promised.
