One Date Is All it Takes

"I came as fast as I could", Anaya's best friend, Alexandria shouted into the house.

"I'm upstairs Alex", Anaya screamed from her room upstairs.

Anaya waited for her friend in her room. She looked at herself in the vanity mirror and though to herself whether she should even go on the date. Her thoughts were everywhere. As is Alex knew what Anaya was thinking about she grabbed her head, "No no no, you are going on this date. I will force you into his car myself if I must", Alex taunted.

"You know I'm not good at this stuff Alex. I haven't been on a date in ages, so I'll be very rusty with my flirting skills. Maybe I should cancel and not waste his time. William seems like a good guy and that means with a girl who isn't awkward and boring", Anaya said with a solemn tone.

"Anaya Rosa Garcia. How many times do I have to tell you. You are one of the best people on this earth and I'm not telling you this because you're my soul sister, but because you really are. Hell, if I was guy I would think I was the luckiest man to ever live", Alex explained to her.

"Thank you Alex, that means a lot. I'll do it. I mean you only live once. OK now do my make up and hair peasant", Anaya giggled.

"And she's back", Alex said rolling her eyes.

The girls spent 2 hours getting ready, laughing and talking about William. After many dress changes and mini arguments, they finally found a dress for Anaya. Alex gasped as she came out of the ensuite bathroom and took a look at her friend. She truly was a rare beauty. No-one could compare to her and she only hoped that Anaya would one day see the person she sees everyday.

"Do I look bad?", Anaya worried.

"You look amazing", Alex whispered. 

Ring...Ring

"There's the door", Anaya said wiping her hands on a towel.

"Go get him tiger. You can do!" Alex winked.

The doorbell rang again. Anaya panicked and did her last checks in the mirror before rushing down the stairs. Her hand reached for the door swiftly and she was greeted to a very beautiful sight.

"Hi", she muttered.

"Hi", he answered with a dazed look in his eyes. She was beautiful was all he could think of.

"William...William"

"Ah, umm. Sorry, I just looking at the most beautiful woman", he complimented.

"Thank you. You don't look to bad yourself", she answered with a smirk.

"Well we better get going to the restaurant", she continued.

"Yes, yes. It's a bit of drive so we better get going"

"Wait for me in the car. I'm just going to speak to my friend"

William walked back to his car and leaned against the side. 'Wow' he thought. She was everything and more to him. She didn't know yet but he loved her and soon she would love him back. He would make sure it happened at any costs.

"Let's go shall we", he asked as she approached him like an angel.

They got into the car and to Anaya's surprise, there was not an awkward silence. William got straight into making conversation with her. Asking her questions that she people would think are too personal for the first date, but again brushed it off. Time flew past and before long they were at the restaurant.

"La Belle, my favourite. how did you know I liked Italian food?" she laughed, not expecting him to respond.

"You might have mentioned it when we last met", he answered, even though that was lie. He already knew this because he overheard he taking about back at college.
