'Just-A-Little-Far'

I honestly think this will finish around 100 chapters, I've only just got into ARC II of KS, so this is going to be a long time. each chapter is roughly around 2000 words. So far I've spent 30 hours writing this xD, I'm not even a quarter of the way there xD. So show your support by voting! :D

"Do I remember you?" I look into her blue eyes.

"I-It doesn't matter, it was probably another b-boy...." She trails off, looking kinda sad.

"You do seem a-" "The tea is getting cold!" Dawn shouted over to us. I guess I'll just drop it for now, we both make our way back to the table and take our seats.

I wake to a slight nudge on my arm, I quickly look up. Oh, yeah I completely forgot I woke up this morning. I look at whoever woke me and it was Serena.

"G....Good morning, Ashton" Serena smiles at me.

"Y-You know my full name?" I blink a few times and rub my eyes.

"Yeah...." She plays with her thumbs.

"Well, morning anyway." I smile at her.

She goes to make her way to her seat but I speak up.

"Ah, so you've got that list? We can leave right after class?" Meaning we can skip the rest of the school day.

"S-sure" She answers.

"I'm looking forward to it" I give her a toothy grin along with a thumbs up.

Serena briefly flashes her embarrassed smile at me then hurries off to her seat.

As I pack up my bags; lesson ended, Bianca and May entrap me.

"It's not too late to join u-"

"No. I have...plans...so I'm leaving now" I already knew what she was going to ask.

As if sensing the cue, Serena appears behind me, holding a small bag, and trying to avoid eye contact with the outside world.

May's eyes open wide, then she bursts into laughter.

"BWAHAHA! We won't disturb your date with...Serena-chan! Bwahahaha!" She continues to laugh ever so loudly.

I feel a gentle tug on my shirt, and turn to see Serena's eye fixed firmly on the floor.

"Le...let's...."

"Got ya." I smile at her, "Later, May and Bianca." I wave at the two as me and Serena leave the classroom.

As Serena and I pass through the gates, I notice that she closes the distance between us.

Not enough to be considered 'close', but she certainly isn't at her usual just-a-little-far position

I guess we're not familiar enough for her to get as close as she does with Dawn. Even though...she does seem familiar which throws me back to what she said last night, but I brush it off for another time.

She almost looks like she's being walked to the Principal's office for the first time.

I try to stifle a giggle at the thought, but it is futile.

"W-What's the matter....?" She looks at me.

"Sorry. You just looked like you were getting into trouble for the first time." I smile at her.

"W-w-w-what do you mean?" She hesitates.

"Look, Sere, just relax a little. We're not going too far, and it's only students around, right?" I reassure her everything is good.
