"Do you get it now?" I ask Seth leaning against the couch. He frowns at the paper, where I tried drawing stick figures to explain it to him.
"I-I guess." He says still frowning. I sigh and bury my head into my arms.
"You don't get it do you?" I ask him. He laughs a little then shakes his head.
"Not a bit."
"It's ok, we still have more tutor sessions." I tell him. He smiles.
"It's great that I have you. At least now, I get it a little bit more. More than how Mrs. Lovelett explained it." He tells me. My cheeks slowly turn pink from the compliment.
"No problem," I mumble looking at the carpeted floor. "So, um, I'll see you later." I tell him collecting my stuff.
"Mercy?" He says.
"Yeah?" I ask him not meeting his eye.
"Thanks." he says. I nod, and walk out the door. I can feel him watching me the whole time, and my feelings toward him being creepy have not changed.
Not a bit.
----
The weekend finally came, and I'm relieved. This week was followed by tutoring sessions and therapy. I swear, the more I go to therapy the more angrier I get, which proves to Dr. Lemons, that I have 'anger problems'.
So, it's Saturday, and currently I am staring at the ceiling. Taylor is finally returning to school on Monday, and I'm happy for several reasons. One of them happens to be because I don't have to deal with the Danovishi family.
I hear a knock on the door.
It's probably my moms boyfriend. She has been secretly dating this guy who works as the garbage man. I told her she could do better, but she burst into tears saying how much she loved him, and said nothing could keep them apart.
I told her she was being naive, then she glared at me, and stomped to her room. I wonder who's acting like the parent here.
I hear my mom talking to someone downstairs, then I hear them head upstairs. Gross, I don't even want to think about what they might be going to do. What I didn't expect was Delany to walk in with my mother.
"Thank you ma'am," Daleny thanks my mom politly.
"No problem honey," She says glancing at me then leaving the room.
"What are you doing here?" I ask her.
"Well, I came so we can get ready." She says plopping on my bed.
"Get ready for what?" I ask her, though I have a feeling I know what for.
"The party, duh," She says like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
"Do I have to go?" I whine.
"Yes, you promised." she tells me. I glare at her, but she just shrugs it off. Delany starts looking through my closet muttering no for everything she disaproves. Which was most of my wardrobe. She sighs then shakes her head.
"I knew this was going to happen." She says, "So, I brought extra clothes around your size."
My eyes widen. It's not that I don't like her clothes, I do...ish. They're just too revealing for my taste.
"Ahh, thanks." I tell her. I dont want to be rude. She takes something out of her bag and holds it to her chest.
"Isn't it cute?" she asks twirling around in the shirt.
"I guess." I say with a shrug. She shoves me into the bathroom and throws a bag in here too.
"Here. Change. The clothes are in the bag. Hurry, I can't wait to see you in it." she says with a grin. I sigh and close the door. Once I finish changing I realize the outfit really isn't all that bad. It's a loose maroon spaghetti strapped shirt, with dark blue skinny jeans, and black pumps. Too top it off; there is a cute leather jacket and a peach colored clutch.
