The man groaned as he got up, rubbing one of his eyes from sleepiness. His vision cleared and he saw Edd and Matt watching him tensely. "What happened?" He jumped at the sound of his voice, hearing two different voices seemingly melding underneath. "Well, we came back home because Tord ran off, and Tom started running toward the house. We figured something was wrong, and came back to... this." "I...I need to go lay down and clear my head." Edd nodded and held out his hand. The arm covered in blue rose to take it. He was pulled up quickly, but fell down again, as his legs seemed to want to go two different directions. Edd pulled the man up again and lead them to his room (if it's not clear, they go to Edd's room). Edd went to leave, taking one last glance at the man, and shut the door
Alone with his thoughts (the horror), two voices spoke in his head.
Ow, my head hurts.
Tom? Where are you?
He looked up at the ceiling
I think I'm in Edd's room, where are you?
I...I'm here too, I just don't see you.
I think I know
He got up, wobbling to the bath room, looked up at the mirror and gasp. Not only did they have the aforementioned features, but he also had one eye, the other being Tom's black hole. "Tord, what is your last memory?" He thought for a moment, pondering the question. "W-we were fighting, you knocked over some vials, and we began to fuse." Their breath caught in their throat, and they began to hyperventilate.
Tom, what's happening?
Panic attack
Oh god, you just a had to pick now.
Well 'scuse me sunshine lollipops, I don't exactly have a schedule here
Tord let out a light giggle.
What?
Nothing, it's just that you're so funny when you're angry.
Tord, can we go now?
Tom tried to walk out of the bathroom, but found one of his legs uncooperative.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but we really have to work together to do anything
Tom sighed, though he felt Tord inviting him to walk back toward the living room. He was stopped at the door frame, only because Tord wanted one final check. Tom was eerily getting along with him after what happened in the lab. "Are you sure you're ready?" Tom shrugged, but he was really about to pass out from panic. "I am, just hurry up and get me out of here. Smells like a cola factory." Tord smiled and put his own foot forward. They quickly got the hang of walking, and trotted into the living room. "Oh, you guys are ok. I was starting to worry." Edd smiled and greeted them with a wave. Just as they were about to sit down, a loud banging was heard on the door. Tom sighed, knowing they would have to get it because they were standing. They trudged over to the door, looking through the little peep hole (you know, that little glass thing they have on like every hotel door?) to see two men wearing blue over coats with red scarves. One wore a bandage over his eye, and smoked a cigarette. He had light brown hair and a dark chocolate eye, while the other had longer hair that was a darker shade that Patryk's, and had blue eyes. Tom froze as he realized the name had come from Tord's thoughts, while the Norwegian realized his slip up. Tord's thoughts turned worried, asking Tom to let him speak because he knows these people, and grabbing his old black hoodie. Tord pulled the hood up right before his devil horns, but still didn't know what to do about the eye though, and just grabbed an eye patch. Tord quickly opened the and laughed. "Hello, my soldiers. What do you need?" Paul looked their leader dead in the eyes. "We need your doomsday device! You said you'd have it by now." Paul hissed at him. "Don't worry, I just might be a little behind schedule due to something recently." The soldiers narrowed their eyes, but seemed to buy into it. "What happened?" Patryk was always a worried one. "It's kind of complicated to explain..." Tord felt himself heat up from embarrassment. The soldiers took one glance at him, and started storming the building. Tom took over seeing his house getting ransacked. "What the hell are you doing?!?" Pat turned, no doubt heard the voice change, as he was closest. He turned to Paul, and gestured to the door again. They came back out as soon as they came in and shut the door behind Tord- or Tom, he thought fuck it and fused their names. Torm, cause I can't come up with anything better at the moment. Tord was busy talking to the two soldiers. "Guys, come on. I honestly have something to deal with right now, and storming my friends house doesn't help." Tom flinched as he said the word friend. "Red leader, you know Prime leader hates to be kept waiting. You have a 24 hours to get that robot out. Or we take it by force." Paul stormed off into the distance, but Patryk stood his ground. "Is something wrong? You seem off, are wearing an eyepatch, and you voice changed a moment ago. If you want to tell me you can, I won't tell Paul, or even Prime leader. Please just let me know." Pat almost seemed to be begging him now, and since he was like an older brother, Tord hesitated. "Ok, but you promise not to tell?"
Tord what the hell are you doing? I don't even know this guy!
But I do.
I'm really starting to hate you again.
"Tord?" He sighed and pulled his hood down, lifting the eye patch as well. Tom began panicking again, accidentally leaving total control over to Tord. He also took off the black hoodie he had put on about a minute ago. "Tord... what happened?" Tom felt his face heating up from anger, a feeling of betrayal tugged at his mind.
Hey, it's ok. Patryk is a nice man.
Why do I get the feeling this is going to go poorly?
He's also totally gay
What?
They don't know that I know
Tom smirked deviously, drawing the attention back to Patryk. "Come around to the back entrance." Tord lead them to the other side of the house, and slid a small panel of wood back, revealing a key pad. It was a glowing blue rectangle, with smaller blue squares in it's frame. The squares were unmarked, and had their own light protruding from them. Tord pressed a few buttons, and a small door to their left opened, smoke curling as it was released to the outside. "We can talk here without much interruption." Tom looked up in awe. They were in a dark room, with light streaming in through a crack of a launch pad. A large robot, probably about 7'6, stood poised to launch, a timer blinking 0:06 and Mission aborted behind it. Tons of metal lay forgotten beside the centerpiece, most likely used to build the huge thing, and a few beams along side them. "So, Tord, you've been building suspense. Please, tell me what happened." Tom wanted to defend himself from the man before him, but Tord was fighting against him with equal, if not more, force. "You know my housemates, right?" Patryk smiled. "Yeah, Edd, Matt and Tom, right?" Both nodded. Tom seemed to have given up fighting at this point, seeing as there was no way around this, and whatever else Tord was doing. "Well, it's about Tom..." Tord's face flushed, this seemed to hit him from left field, and he trailed off. "What about Tom? You don't love him, do you?" Patryk seemed to have a glint of worry behind those dark brown eyes of his. "No, it's not that. You remember the self heal serums we tried making?" The worry on Pat's face grew, and a shadow passed over him. "I thought you got rid of the two that didn't work." Tord gave him a sheepish grin. "I got rid of one. The other I thought I might possibly need in the future, so I kept working on it. And the disguising drug is involved in this as well." Pat seeped deeper into the pit of despair, many equations running through his mind, most involving a ton of alcohol, and killing. "Tom found a wanted post with my name on it, and decided to walk in on me." The poster had survived the fusing, and sat crumpled in his pocket. Tom nor Tord knew it was still there until Tom went to hide their hands behind their back. "He slammed me into the wall of chemicals, spilling 3 and..." Tom could see he was stalling, trying to find a way out of explaining this, but he knew he was in too deep to turn back now.
Come on, it's not that hard.
I don't know how to explain without him freaking out
I got it
Tom no
"We ended up fusing, and are now stuck like this."
Patryk pov ('Cause I felt like it)
Pat jumped as he heard his leader's voice change again. It sounded mostly american, with a hint of british accent. "Tom? So, you're telling me that Tom figured out that you were wanted, came back to the house, spilled some very dangerous chemicals, and you fused?" They (Cause Pat dosen't know who was in control... It was Tord) nodded. Stars seemed to glow in Pat's eyes, he was even on the brink of fangirling, but tried to regain him composer. "Is the liquid still on the floor?" "Yeah, why?" Patryk tried to think of a reasonable explanation other than wanting to fuse with Paul. "I could do a chemical analysis, then try to find those components in your body...?" Tord's laugh echoed through the vast empty room. Pat felt sweat drip down his face, fearing that Tord had figured him out. "This is why you're my second in command." Patryk inwardly sighed with relief. He knew he couldn't keep it up forever, but he didn't want to come out of the closet just yet. The fusion walked over to a small control panel with two buttons stacked on top of each other. It pushed the one on top. A clanking noise was heard, and a makeshift elevator rattled to the ground. "I'll go get you a sample." Patryk flushed, and nodded quickly. He let this thoughts wander as the fusion left. Pat began thinking of how he would explain this to Paul, and how he would react to the idea of them fusing. Paul wouldn't take it well for sure. He would already be disturbed by their boss sharing a body with one of his house-mates, but having them do it to themselves willingly? Out of the question. Patryk didn't want to trick him either, he loved Paul too much. That wouldn't go over well with Paul either, for he would want to defuse almost as soon as they became one. He really did want them to be together, but he didn't know how to gently tell him the idea. Patryk was pulled out of his thoughts as the elevator shuddered back to ground level. "This should be enough, all I ask is that you don't let Paul ingest it." Tord held out a small vial with a liquid changing between the colors blue, red, and purple. "And don't spill it, that could be enough to fuse two humans again." Pat nodded, though he could have sworn something darted from the corner in the shadows. The two walked back out into the afternoon heat, the warm breeze ruffling Pat's hair as he walked. "Hey, Patryk? If you do happened to accidentally fuse with someone, this should help a little." Tom offered him a bottle of Scotch, and Pat accepted. If fusing was going to hurt, he should be prepared.Word count: 2017
