*Niall's POV*
I blink my eyes rapidly as the sun shines through my window, right on to my face. I slowly get roll over to the other side of my bed and shut my eyes again, not sleeping, just thinking about everything.
"Niall!" My mom calls, maybe if I ignore her she will stop.
"Niall James-"
"Coming mom!" I call down before she can finish my whole name. I put some sweat pants and make my way downstairs.
I walk into the kitchen where I smell my mother making breakfast, I grab some coffee and set at the counter.
"What did you need?" I question her.
"Your father and I talked, we think you should move out on your own after you take the test for your GED, which you will be taking." She points at me with a spatula.
"Mom, you guys can't kick me out and I still need to study." I whine.
"Niall, you are almost 19. You need to start living and don't even say you need to study anyone that knows you, knows you are smarter then anyone you meet." She complements me, a smirk playing on her lips.
"It's dad isn't it?" My voice is stern. My dad and I haven't really ever got along. He liked football, I liked books. It never really worked.
"He loves you Niall." She stares down at the oven, avoiding my gaze.
"No mom, he never has. It's okay though. I don't really care for him either."
She gulps, knowing in right.
"You'll take the test Wednesday and be out by the end of the month, understood?"
"Yeah. Okay." I stare down at my cup of coffee.
"Oh! I almost forgot. A miss Mallory Skye called for you?" She smirks at me.
"Oh fucking hell."
"Watch it! Call her back, now"
"No, mom. I'm not interested."
"You once were, so call her. Give her the chance she never gave you. Be the bigger person." She smiles at me. I roll my eyes.
"Call her and then come back and eat some breakfast with your mother." I leave without another word, knowing she wouldn't had given up.
I dial the number as my breathing gets deeper.
"Uh, hello?" She answers.
"Hey, it's Niall, you called?"
"Oh yeah. I wanted to know if you wanted to go get some coffee with me around noonish?" The hope in her voice almost makes me hurl.
"Uh why?" I come off cold and mean but I could care less.
"I-I.. Never mind. I don't have a reason. I shouldn't had called. Sorry."
I'm thinking quickly, but I know she is hurt and the tiny, small good part of me feels bad.
"Wait!" I stop her.
"What Niall? Not humiliate me enough?" Her sarcastic tone pisses me off, but makes me smile.
"I'll meet you there. The one next to the book store sound good?" I can feel my nerves building.
"Yeah sounds good. See you then.
I rushed off to quickly eat and then get ready. I wasn't sure how this would go and that left me with an uneasy feeling in the bottom of my stomach.
