Niall's POV

"Hey uh, what happen when you left?"

I sighed. I figured she would ask just not this soon. She looked at me, I could barely make out her shape; brown, curly hair, deep green/blue eyes, perfect figure, she's just a little short than me, maybe 5'5.

"You can tell me Niall." She begged.

"No, Mallory. It doesn't matter. I'm not going to get into it." Her smile faded.

"What about you, what have you been up to?" I smirked knowing she wanted to talk about herself.

"Well I- wait why should I talk if you aren't?" She pushed me.

"You're right. We should probably get back to the party anyway." I started to walk away until she grabbed my arm.

"Wait, I'll share since you won't." I smiled and turned around to look at her in the darkness again.

"I just started my first year of college, I'm majoring in film making and the arts. I graduated high school, valedictorian." She boasted.

"Sounds like you've been doing good for yourself." I half smiled knowing everyone but me was doing good.

"What are you going to school for?" I was worried she would ask this. I should've known though. She's always been curious.

"I.. Uh.. I'm not." I rubbed the back of my neck nervously.

"Oh... Why not?"

"I dropped out. Well I flunking and didn't want to do the work to bring my grades up." I looked at my feet embarrassed.

"But Niall you are the smartest person I know." She got closer to me.

"I still read and stuff, but I just didn't want to do it anymore." She took one more step closer, to where I could smell the alcohol on her breath. I know she is almost wasted, not thinking about what she is about to do. Her hand reached up to caress my face.

"Still exactly how I remember it."

"How's that?"

"Soft. Really really soft. Even with a busted face your skin was always soft, innocent, like the world hasn't touched it." I could see the wonder in her eyes.

"What happen to you, Niall Horan?" I stepped back.

"Wait- I'm sorry- come back." She begged. I wasn't going to do this to her. I wasn't going to let her fall for me.

"I've got to go. My parents will start to wonder if something's happen to me." I came up with an excuse, even though yet could care less, since I dropped out of school.

"You're an adult, Niall. They can't tell you what to do." She started to walk towards me again.

"Yeah, you're right, maybe I just don't want to talk to you." I hurt her purposely, knowing it would make her want me less.

"Okay. I'll see you around."

"Yeah whatever."

I walked up the slight hill back to the house. As the noise of the party grew, my breathing got harder, quicker. I was mad, pissed, livid. Why did this happen to me. Why did we move. Why did I met the boys. Why did I get into an accident and kill them. I blame myself. I could've made them put their seat belts on. It's my fault.

I didn't even realize I was in my car and driving, but where was I heading. I looked at the signs on the side of the road and found one that said John David Graveyard.

I was going to their graves. I looked at the clock 3:02. The graveyard was three hours away from the party I was at. I can't believe I had been driving for three hours and didn't even notice.

Slam.

I was mad and I had no reason to be. As I walked to the graves of my four best mates, I started to cry. It wasn't fair. Why hadn't I died. Why were they taken from me.

I dropped on my knees in front of the graves.

"Why did you leave me? I need you! You were my only friends. We went through everything together. EVERYTHING." I punched the ground.

"Arg! Fuck!" I sat down completely and examined my now busted up hand.

"Sir" I hear a whisper from behind me.

"What!" I shouted.

"Y-you have to leave. It's after hours."

"You've got to BE FUCKING KIDDING ME." I got up and started to stomp away. "I CANT EVEN VISIT MY LOVED ONES WHEN I WANT TO." When I was almost to my car I heard the man speak up.

"Sir."

"What the hell do you want now?" I breathed heavily.

"Can I offer a suggestion?"

"..why not" I tried to calm myself down.

"It isn't your fault. Don't beat yourself up." Without another word the man turned around and walked away. I got in my car and started to drive home.

------

I tried to sneak in the house without waking anyone up. I still lived with my parents and I was suppose to live by their rules, which meant home by two.

I heard someone clear their throat, shit.

"Do you know what time it is, Niall James?" My mother started to cry. My dad just stared at me.

"No.. What time?" I tried to act stupid.

"Its-" my mother was cut off my dad.

"It's five in the morning! I have to be at work in an hour and I haven't had any god damn sleep because of you."

"You could've slept." I shrugged.

"I'm done Niall. Next time you're out. You are going to get your GED and then go to college because this hast to end. It was a year ago. They're gone. You have to move on." I knew who he was talking about.

Without another word I went straight to my room with two things on my mind, getting my GED and Mallory.
