4. First Night

James' POV

Today is our first day of tour and we have about 2 hours to kill until soundcheck. I wake up quite early every day to do a workout and get awake for the day ahead. Char has been staying round mine and boys' house for the past few days and it's been so lovely having her around.

She's so gorgeous and so talented. We've had a few little jamming sessions where one of us would play guitar and the other would sing and then we'd swap and it was really nice just to chill and enjoy the music and company. I was knocked out my thoughts by someone's hand around my waist.

"Morning J" char said looking as gorgeous as ever as I turned around.

"Morning beautiful, you ready for tour today?" I asked her pulling her in for a hug.

"Yeah I guess so, I just can't wait to get started! What about you?" She replied yawning in the process.

"Yeah same I love touring and it's going to be so much better having you around!" I kissed the top of her head and then let her go and get ready for today.

"Do you want some pancakes char?" I called from the kitchen. She shouted yes please back so I began making them.

After we had eaten we packed our bags and got ready to leave for soundcheck. It only took about 20 minutes to get to the arena by car. As I drove us there I let Charlotte choose the music. We have a pretty similar taste in music so I had no problem with that.

"Hey don't look so nervous babe, you'll do great!" I say and put my hand on her knee, looking at her fiddle with her phone case nervously.

"Thank you J, i don't know what I would do without you" she said, smiling at me. Her smile is most beautiful thing and seeing her smile makes me smile.

We arrived at the arena and we both got whisked away to different dressing rooms and then got called in to watch all the soundchecks in the arena.

New hope club soundchecked first and they were brilliant as per usual, they sang about 6 songs and it lasted for about an hour because they had to sort out lighting and sound levels.

Next it was Nicola to soundcheck and seeing Char on stage with her made me so happy. They sang a few songs non stop because there was nothing wrong with them. Then Nicola spoke to joe through the mic.

"Hey joe is it okay if me and char do a song that we wrote the other day? Just to see if it sounds okay" she asked him, and without hesitating, Joe put his thumbs up to signal a yes.

Nicola got handed her guitar and sat down next to Char on a stool. They both started strumming and then they sang in harmony and it was so most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

When they finished all of us applauded them and they finished their sound check and made their way to their seats to watch us do ours.

My eyes were glued onto Char as she sang every word perfectly without not knowing a single line. Maybe she was a fan? She's got to be to know al those words. I noticed that Brad was singing to Nicola making her blush and Connor and Kacie were making faces at eachother whilst Tristan kept smirking at Rachel.

It was really cute how we were all mesmerised by our girls and I couldn't see a reason why all of us couldn't get together any time soon.

Charlotte's POV

When we had finished performing our new song 'Tell Me', Nicola and I looked at eachother with relief that it went okay. The boys all applauded us and I could see James smiling like an idiot. Man I love him.

When we got off stage, Nicola and I took our seats and watched the boys sound check. We were both singing along to all the songs because we knew all the words. Nicola, Rachel and I used to be really big fans of the boys but we hadn't told them that yet.

When Brad soundchecked his solo 'Stay' and within 30 seconds Nicola's eyes were full of tears watching him perform. Brad was singing the song to her and she must've get everything. Rachel and I gave her a group hug which made her cry a little bit more. She was brad over heels for this boy and it was adorable seeing her and Brad together.

After Brad had finished it was time for James and Connor's acoustic duet, and before they started Brad came running off the stage to give Nicola a hug. We all 'awwed' at their cuteness.

James and Connor started singing, they were doing a mashup of Written Off and Risk It All, which was one of my favourite song off of their first album. My eyes were locked on James, his smile, his voice and his playing were just perfect. I found myself singing along with him and I couldn't think of a better moment to be spending my time right now.

All throughout James, Connor and Tristan's solos and duets, Brad sat with Nicola in his arms which was sooo adorable. James came and sat with me for Tristan's drum solo and we tapped our feet along with the beat as Tristan completely smashed his solo. We all just couldn't wait for tonight.

"Okay so now it's time for Brad and Nicola's duet" joe said through the sound man's microphone.

They both got on stage, Brad grabbed his guitar and they started singing.

It was so beautiful, it was like their voices were meant for eachother. After they had finished it was the end of soundcheck and we went to get a drink before the show. There was only about an hour and a half before we had to be back at the arena so we decided to go and get Starbucks from the shop outside the arena.

We all ordered our drinks and brought them back to the boys' dressing room where we all sat and chatted.

"Brad and Nicola holy shit your voices were made for eachother!" Reece from new hope club said as we got back to the room.

"Aw thank you Reece" Nicola gushed looking at Brad happily.

Nicola's POV

We talked and talked until it was time to start warming up for the show. We warmed up and got our guitars tuned up before watching New Hope Club absolutely smash it out there. And before we knew it, it was our turn. Char and I walked onto the stage to be greeted by screams and cheering for us! It was insane.

"Hey guys, I'm Nicola-May and this is my guitarist Charlotte. Our first song is going to be an Original called 'Birds'. Hope you like it" I nodded at Char and she strummed the beginning. After our set was finished the arena erupted in cheering as we said our goodbyes and welcomed the boys on stage.

Soon enough it was time for mine and Brad's duet which was ending the show. I stood int he wings waiting for my cue to go on stage, shaking like crazy because I was so nervous.

"Okay now guys please welcome to the stage someone who is very special to me. The beautiful and talented Nicola-May!" Brad screamed, as I walked on the stage. He gave me a quick hug and grabbed his guitar and started to strum. The lyrics came easily to me and I soon relaxed when Brad made eye contact with me and winked, making me try my hardest not to laugh.

"Thank you so much, we have been the vamps and we'll be back very very soon! Goodnight you beautiful bunch!" Brad said his final goodbyes to the crows, threw his guitar pucks out and ran off stage to get a shower before we went back to the boys' house for dinner.

Tonight was magical and I wish I could do it all over again, oh wait. That's what I am doing! God I'm so excited for this tour!
