Part 16

Your pov

I opened my eyes and stretched my arms.

I looked up to see dan laying back against the sofa, most likely asleep as well.

I sat up to look at him.

His brown hair was slightly messed up and his mouth was hanging open a bit.

I chuckled at him and carefully stood up and walked to the kitchen.

I made some more tea and walked over to the window, watching the rain continue to plummet to ground in the dark night.

I sipped my tea quietly and watched the lightning, occasionally counting the seconds between the thrash of light and the booming of the thunder.

A large crack of lightning of lightning startled slightly and caused dan to stir in his sleep.

I set my tea on the table and grabbed the quilt the my grandmother made me when I was younger and laid it over dan.

He grabbed it and slid down onto the couch so he was laying with his legs crossed and his head resting on the arm of the couch.

I chuckled silently to myself and walked into the kitchen and started washing the dishes.

There weren't that many but it was something to do.

I was drying a plate when I felt arms wrap around my waist and a chin on my shoulder.

"Hey sorry I feel asleep on you earlier, I guess running around out in the rain took a lot out of me." I chuckled.

"Nah it's okay. I needed a nap anyways." Dan said laughing.

I set the plate in the cabinet and closed it.

Dan let go of my waist and hopped up and set on the counter.

I turned to him and smiled.

"Now what should we do? We finished our movie. We played in the rain." I said giggling.

"I was thinking tha-" dan started but was interrupted by the lights going out.

"Ugh" I groaned, feeling around for my phone.

I finally found it and turned on the flash light.

"Come on dan, help my find some candles." I chuckled.

"Okay." Dan said.

We were walking down the hall when I I heard a thud and dan start swearing under his breath.

I laughed and grabbed his hand, leading him down the dark hallway.

We walked into my room and I grabbed a real flash light and handed it to dan.

"Here, I know I have some candles around here somewhere. I'm gonna look in the bathroom." I said.

I walked into my bathroom and grabbed all the candles I had, which was surprisingly a lot. I also grabbed my lighter.

I walked back into my room to see dan spreading the candles around my room, on the bed side tables, the dresser, and the window sill.

I set down the candles I found in similar places and lit them all.

"There. That's enough light for now." I said.

Dan nodded.

I laid down on my bed and gestured for him to join me.

He smiled and laid down next to me.

"So now what." He asked.

"We could talk like normal humans." I giggled.

"That sounds hard." Dan groaned causing me to laugh.

"Well then we can go back to sleep." I said.

"That sounds good too." Dan laughed.

I climbed under the covers. "Get comfy." I offered. He laughed and climbed under the blankets as well.

Dan laid his arm out so I could lay with him.

I rested my head on his chest and closed my eyes.

Dan pulled me closer causing me to blush.

"Do you want to just stay the night?" I asked.

"Only if you want me to." Dan said, turning to me.

"Ok." I smiled and snuggled my face into his chest.

"Y/n?" Dan said.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Today has been so much fun." He said rubbing my shoulder.

"Yeah, and this isn't weird for you right?" I asked giggling.

"Not at all. It's nice to have another person in the bed with me." He laughed.

I looked up at him, looking at how the candle light danced around him.

I readjusted myself so we were face to face.

I watched as he glanced down at my lips and quickly back up to my eyes.

I looked at his lips that were ever so slightly dry then back at his brown eyes.

Dan started to slowly lean towards me, making the gap between us smaller

Just before our lips touched I pulled away.

Dan looked at me, concerned.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing. I'm just worried... what if...what if you don't like me after this... and we stop being friends?" I asked, my eyes burning with tears.

"Hey..." he started, brushing a strand of hair from my eyes and wiping away a tear with his thumb. "That won't happen." He said, staring into my eyes like he was looking for something.

"How do you know?" I said, placing my hands on his as they rested on my cheeks.

"I just know." He smiled, and gently kissed me.

My cheeks burned and my tears went away

Butterflies flew around in my stomach and my body filled with electricity.

My heart was beating out of my chest and adrenaline rushed through me.

Dan wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled closer.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned closer against him causing him to roll over so I was laying on top of him.

Dan licked my lip, asking to enter.

I opened my mouth slightly letting his tongue explore my mouth.

His hands ran up and down my sides.

I started running out of air so I pulled back and rested my head on dan chest.

Dan kissed the top of my head and wrapped his long arms around me and sighed.

"See? I still like you." He said, causing me to giggle.

"I really like you, y/n" he breathed out.

"I really like you too, Dan." I smiled.

Dan tightened his grip around me and closed his eyes.

I felt myself drift off to sleep in dans safe embrace.
