Chapter Two - Patch

"You don't think I did it, do you?" Patch's brother voice echoed through his mind as he started thinking of the day his brother was arrested.

Patch eyed Elliot as he sat behind the thick bullet proof glass. His usually neat black hair was a mess and he looked like he hadn't slept in days. A mixture of emotions soared through Patch as he looked at his older brother on the other side of the glass. He was still confused as to why his brother was in jail. "Of course not." Patch said.

"Good because I didn't do it. Someone set me up." Elliot said. "I need you to do me a favor."

"What?" he asked. Patch was trying to keep his words at a minimum he didn't want his brother to know how much it was killing him to see him like that.

"I need you to find this Lawyer his name is James Fitzpatrick he's suppose to be one of the best lawyers out there."

"How am I suppose to get him? Isn't he going to cost a fortune or something?" Patch asked raising an eyebrow.

"Just do it." Elliot hissed rubbing his wrist where the cuffs were.

"Nike." Patch smirked.

"I'm serious Patrick." Elliot said dangerously low.

"Oh come on, even you know you walked into that joke." Patch said a smirk still visible on his face.

Elliot chuckled. "Yeah I guess I did."

Patch smirk grew into a grin. Even in the worst situations he always managed to get his brother to laugh.

"I'm counting on you." Was the last words his brother said before being dragged away.

Patch flipped through the channels on the tv angrily. He's been that way all day. Every since he got off the phone with Mr. Fitzpatrick assistant who told him for the hundredth time Mr. Fitzpatrick does not do pro bono cases. Nothing in his life was going right. His parents were dead and his brother was in jail. Patch recently let his older cousin Finn move into the house to help out with the rent. The same house his parents were murdered in 3 years ago. Now that his brother was gone it seemed like Finn was the only person in the world who understood him. Believe it or not Finn's life was more fucked up than his. Sure Patch watched his parents get murdered in cold blood but that was nothing compared to Finn. Sometimes he wonders how Finn can go about his days so normally.

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong or are you going to sit there pouting like a bitch all day?" Finn asked taking a seat at the other end of the couch and throwing Patch a beer.

Patch caught it with ease. Opening it he took a big gulp. He made an disgusted face which made Finn chuckle a little. Patch had never really liked beer, but right now he needed it.

"That ass of an lawyer. He won't even let me explain to him Elliot's situation without me giving him a down payment. Since when have lawyers taken down payments? I'm not trying to buy a fucking house."

"Oh," Finn said taking a sip of his own beer.

"They're going to kill him." Patch said lowly shaking his head in disbelief. "They're going to kill him for a crime he didn't even fucking commit."

Finn looked down at his beer then back up at Patch. "How long?" he asked.

"A couple of months."

"I'm going to do it." Patch said.

Finn seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. "What? Are you crazy?" He hissed.

"I can't just let him die in there he's my brother!"

"Think about the consequences of your actions, Patch."

Patch took another gulp of beer and started to flip through channels again. He fought the urge to cry as he thought about his brother and parents. He didn't know what to do. Elliot talked over a plan with him a few weeks ago to get Fitzpatrick to agree to work on his brothers case. Elliot wanted Patch to go with the plan, but Patch tried to be civil first. See how that worked out? Plan B of course was illegal. It also involved the lawyers precious daughter Holly. Patch shook his knee out of anger. Taking another sip of beer he realized he finished it and sat it down on the coffee table. The plan would be a piece of cake considering Patch had been spying on the Fitzpatrick's for weeks now. He knew where the girl went to school, where she slept, and that she was probably weird because her hair was green and he saw her dancing in her room all the time. Who dyes their hair green? He also knew that that tonight the workers were off and that she would be alone getting ready for a ball she may and may not make it to. A sinister smile crept its way onto Patch's lips. He grabbed his keys off the table and got up and grabbed his coat.

"I'll be back in a couple of hours." he said to Finn as he walked out of the door.

"Patrick, think about it before you go and do something stupid!" he heard Finn call from inside the house. But no one could stop him he was on a mission.
