chapter 4

{the next morning} {in the car}
Ian pov:
"Marlene said to meet her in her office right?" I asked Lucy who was sitting shotgun and singing along to Little big town- wish you were a better man.
"Yeah." she answered turning off the radio.
"You ready to do this?" I said getting out the car taking her hand in my hand.
"As ready as I'll ever be." she said leaning onto my shoulder while walking still hand in hand to Marlene's office.
{Marlene's office}
Ian pov:
"Hey Marlene it's Ian and Lucy. Can we come in?" I asked opening the door.
"Ah yes what do you need to tell me you sounded pretty serious over the phone." she said clearing a place for us to sit.
"It is...actually." grabbing Lucy's hand because I knew she was trying to hold it together but going to fail.
"Ian..... What are you talking about?" Marlene said worried.
"You sure Lucy your ready?" I asked before telling.
"Yeah... Yeah I'm sure she has to know." she said looking down at the floor.
"Lucy...?" Marlene asked anxiously. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah...yeah I'm okay? Lucy said wiping a tear from her face. Ian can you tell her please? She said about break again.
"Marlene as you know Luce and I were trying to get pregnant but had no luck. Well about 3 days ago we found out we were pregnant with twins. A boy and a girl. But we didn't find out by taking a pregnancy test from the drug store. We found out by going to the hospital." I said stoping for a second to make sure Marlene was still following.
"Okay. Go on." Marlene said with a mix of confusion and worry.
"We were on our way to the drug store to get a test. But before we left Lucy had raging stomach pains and it was bad. She was crying and screaming out of pain like it hurt like hell. She fell to the ground but I caught her luckily so she wasn't hurt hurt. But she fell to the ground and reacted like that due to how much pain she was in. So I called 911 we went to the hospital. We told them what was going on and we needed to find out weather she was pregnant or not. And they took tests to find out, the results came back positive and they even found out it was twins and the genders. But they still needed to find out what the pain was so they admitted her and did a bunch more tests and scans and such on her and we found out the results..." I stopped again to make sure she was still understanding.
"Ian what's going on?..." Marlene said sitting down.
"You sure babe?" I asked Lucy before continuing.
"Yeah I'm sure babe." she said looking up at me holding my hand.
"Marlene... Lucy has a condition called placenta previa... It's where she runs the risk of
hemorrhaging during pregnancy or during delivery." I said holding Lucy in my arms running my fingers across her back to comfort her.
"Oh my God... Lucy, Ian I'm so happy you guys are finally pregnant but I'm sad for y'all too because of the situation. But obviously... This is going to change the way you do your jobs more Lucy than Ian but still."
"Yeah... that's why we wanted to tell you." Lucy spoke.
"Okay...well does anybody else know?" Marlene  asked us.
"No. not now. just you." Ian said.
Marlene stared at Lucy for a second trying to think.
"Lucy, how far along are you?" Marlene finally asked.
"2 weeks." Lucy answered.
"Okay. Well we need to get you at least a stunt double because your scenes require a lot of action most of the time considering you play one of the liars." Marlene stated.
"Right." Lucy said. Then directed me to her attention.
"Ian, can you help me up?" she asked gathering her stuff. Even though she's only 2 weeks. She already shows a bit. It doesn't look like she's pregnant it just looks like she's gained weight. Which it's understandable she's showing a bit this early because she's carrying twins.
"A course babe." I said holding her hands and pulling her up gently. She kisses me when she's up and I smile.
"Okay." Marlene says as she gets us back to reality. "Lucy your only doing light and easy scenes for now. Your stunt double will do the rest. "
"thanks Mar I love you." Lucy said smiling.
"Love you guys too." "Now go get ready for filming. you have an Ezria scene to do in 10. " she said opening the door and leaving after us.
