CHAPTER 3

TAKE IT OUT ON ME

  "For you, it's Joey."
  For me, it's Joey . . .
"Joey . . ." I tested it on my tongue.
We were laying together on my bed at the time. It was the day of the race that I was meant to meet Ronnie Baites. The whole day went like this; watch a movie, kiss for a little bit, watch another movie, fight with Daniel, watch half a movie then have another fight with Daniel.
"I like the sound of it coming from your mouth." He said leaning over me on all fours.
I gave him a look that told him I didn't trust what he was going to do and I was right to think that, the sneaky asshole started to tickle me.
"Oh God," I said between laughter. "Please stop." But he didn't and I started squealing, I started squealing because he wouldn't let me go.
  "Joey!"
"Um," Razor stopped the moment another persons voice was heard from the other side of the room and we looked to see Daniel standing there with a blush covering his cheeks. "If it wasn't for the fact that I was already standing here watching you guys, I would have ran for cover thinking something inappropriate was happening."
I blushed madly and grabbed a pillow that must have fallen off the bed earlier that day while we were watching the movies. "Get your mind out of the gutter would you?"
"What's up, mate?" Razor lifted his right leg so he could get off me and I sat up.
"I'm here to tell you it's nearly time to go . . ." He rubbed the back of his head. "I thought you guys would be ready."
I looked at the clock beside my bed. "Oh, shit!" I got out of bed and grabbed the first things I could, not really bothering if it was a good enough outfit or not.

I stood beside the GTR with the hood of my shirt up, because it was colder then I thought it would be, while hugging Razor for more warmth.
"Harley, want to sit in the car with the heater on?" Daniel asked rattling the keys.
I shook my head. "No, I'm okay. I'm sure it'll warm up before I see Ronnie."
I was wearing a hooded cropped shirt with a cropped leather jacket and a dark pair of jeans with a white belt. I wasn't wearing my Skull Candy boots, I was actually wearing my Averies. They came to my knees with black and white checker laces. Oh, and I can't forget my signature sunnies, can I?
"Calling for all racers!" A very familiar voice said over the intercom. "Make your way to the sign in and then we can get the races underway."
"My call, I guess." Daniel walked off to sign in.
"Think he'll be fine?" Razor asked with worry in his voice.
"Perfectly fine," I hugged Razor tighter. "I've raced that Subaru so many times before."
I was walking up the stairs to the back of the stands where I knew Ronnie would be, with Razor following close behind.

"Street Queen," Ronnie said as I neared the back, he nodded his head lightly.
  "Street King,"
"My little Prince," Ronnie looked over at his son. "Isn't it amusing that the Queen has fallen for the Prince?" He chuckled humorlessly.
"You never actually expected me to fall for you, did you?" I looked sideways at him as I sat down next to him.
"What? No," he shook his head. "I would have been most happy with you working with and for me, young Queen."
I scoffed and Razor nudged me. "What made you think that Harley would work with you in the first place, dad?"
"Why not? The King and Queen working together? People would love it, they expect it, Joey." Razor flinched a little at his name.
"There is going to be a new king soon and he'll be knocking you off your little thrown."
"Razor," I placed my hand on his. "Don't start anything."
"And who would be stupid enough to try that, Razor?" Ronnie said mockingly. I gave him a glare.
Joey sat up straighter and glared down at his father. "Me," With that, Razor grabbed my arm gently and got up, walking away from a fuming Street King.

"Daniel?" Joey asked from the swivel chair in the waiting room for the drivers crew, just to the side but still in the garage. "What happen, mate?"
He sighed and looked over at me. "I lost the GTR to the Subaru, I'm sorry."
"It's fine," I said softly. "Razor made an enemy in his father, tonight."
"You're kidding?" Daniel asked plonking himself down on the oil stained floor of the garage I had claimed a few months after I had started as the racer I am today, I even tagged it after my first year and nobody knows to this day that it was me.
Joey screwed up his face. "Aren't you worried about staining your clothes?"
"Nope." Both Daniel and I said at the same time. I was leaning against the wall behind Joey and I was trying my hardest not to laugh.
"My answer was for Daniel." I said, still trying to hold back my laughter.
"And mine was for Razor." Daniel smirked knowing I was gonna crack soon.
I placed my hand over my mouth and looked away from the boys and I let out my most horrendous snort that was known to man kind.
Daniel and Razor looked at each other then they started to laugh as well.

"C'mon, Daniel," I shook my head. "You're gonna need to do better then that."
"Razor," Daniel pouted. "Teach your girlfriend a lesson, would you?"
"Like hell," Joey scrunched his nose up. "Last time I played this with her, she handed my ass to me. You're on your own, mate." Joey shook his head as he walked pass the T.V and entered the bathroom.
"I give up, there is no way I can beat you at this game!" Daniel sprawled out on my bed. "Why are you so good at Call of Duty?"
I could see the need for him to tack something on the end of that sentence but he just didn't have the balls, so I did it for him. "'Cause I'm a girl."
Daniel sighed and sat up. "Being a girl has nothing to do with itand you know it."
I shrugged. "I know, I just like teasing every person I beat."
Joey walked out of the bathroom then, wearing a pair of football short and an MCR shirt. I looked up at him. "If you aren't careful, you won't be owning that shirt for much longer."
Joey narrowed his eyes at me. "Over my dead body, Love."
There was a knock on my door and the warden came in. He looked around at me and the boys and then set his eyes on me. "Harley,"
"Mr. Cadan, what brings you to my dorm?"
"Your scores are slipping. It was one of our agreements, you keep your scores up and you can work at the Garage. Your down from a B to a C, if you drop again I'll suspend you from the Garage. I've already spoken to Jacob. He's giving you a week off so you can study."
"But, Mr. Cadan, I started out on a C, can't you cut me a bit of slack? I haven't caused any fights since I've been working at the Garage."
"I am very aware if that, Harley," The Warden narrowed his eyes at the two boys. "But we had an agreement."
I nodded my head and looked away. "Yes, Mr. Cadan, thank you for letting me know."
The warden nodded his head and left the room, slightly glaring at the two boys.
"What was that all about, Harley?" Razor came and sat beside me on the bed. "He can't stop you from going to the Garage, can he?"
"Yes, he can. We had an agreement; if I don't let the Garage get in the way of my grades then I could go without hassel. So now Jacob has given me a week off, looks like the guard out the front of my door will be my friend for the next week."
