Chapter 1: The mistake

Aloha to any human being who is reading this! (or alien, I don't mind!).Sooo, this is my first story here on wattpad and I know it may be a bit boring or confusing in the beginning but give it a chance! Once the plot picks up I promise it gets a lot better!

Alright that's it. Chapter 1 here we come....

Chapter 1st: The mistake

They were in the middle of the school courtyard, sitting on one of the rickety benches with their hands entwined and their gazes locked.  

Amber was frowning. "What do you mean you're not sitting with me in lunch today?" 

Being aware of Amber's lack of self control, Logan tried to sooth her.

"Look, honey, I don't want to do it either but I really need some tutoring; we're writing our maths test right after lunch and I haven't understood a thing..."

"Couldn't you ask your teacher?"

"Well, I... you know how Mme Christine is, even if I asked her she would still not give me a proper answer, she sucks at teaching..."

"Then how come your classmates understood what she said?!"

"They didn't, they..."

"Then how will they help you, if they don't understand themselves!" Amber's voice was squeaky; she was getting irritated by her boyfriend's evasiveness.

"We will compare our thoughts; we'll sort something out..."

"Which friends of yours?" Amber asked.

Logan gaped at her "you know, my friends..." his voice trailed off.

"It's with her, isn't it?", now her voice was dangerously low.

He avoided her piercing gaze and as a punishment she dug her nails in his arm.

"Ouch, Amber! Yeah, it's with her!"

"I knew it!" she yelled and tried to free herself from his grasp. "It's the third time this week! First, you miss the school match in which I was cheering-front line! - to go out with your friends", her tone was sarcastic in the word "friends", "then you blow me off after school to give one of your friends -FYI her- a ride! Now this! What the hell Logan!" she panted.

"For the millionth time Amber, we're just friends; there is nothing else between us!"

She flailed her arms exasperedly. 

"And how am I supposed to know? I haven't even properly met her!"

"Exactly", Logan explained in an angry tone "so stop making assumptions already!"

"I will, if you introduce her to me."

"Are you kidding me? Of course I won't!" Logan cried.

Amber looked at him for a moment; then she got up to leave.

"No Amber wait!" Logan bolted from his seat and got in her way "You know what I meant."

"No I didn't" she said flatly "Now move".

"Look, I swear nothing is going on between us", he said and brought his forehead closer to hers "She has a boyfriend and I only gave her a ride. After all you are my girlfriend", he added in a hushed voice.

"Then why won't you introduce her to me?" she persisted.

"C' mon Amber, when did something like this ever end up well? Remember my friend Olive? She didn't show a single hint of interest towards me and you sent her running away just because she was a female! And what about Tanya? And Hannah?"
