I look behind me, a slightly taller, slimmer but we'll built male stands, his soft grey eyes fixated on me. His hair a rich brown color, nicely spiked, a black leather jacket on with a grey undershirt, dark grey pants on wich  fit perfectly to his long and slim legs, grey sneakers on. He smiles.
"Hey, I'm Alex. I-im new here" he says, a little nervous, most likely due to the fact that he is new to this community even though almost all communities are the same; well the same concept.
"I'm james" I say, smiling, looking at him, a little bit of curiosity runs over my like waves gently do on a calm day of a beach. I put my books away and shut my locker, nodding my head towards the elevator as we both get into it along with some other students. The grey, silver, doors softly close with that always and oddly satisfying sound and slowly starting to go down.
"So, is your community just like this one?" I say, staring at him. A smile washes over his face, almost like he is back in his old community wothout worry.
"Yeah, very similar. A little different layout, but the exact replica in everything else" he says, tucking his hands into his back pockets as he takes a deep but awkward exhale.
"So.. I saw the parks, maybe you wanna go to one right now? I was thinking since maybe we could learn more about eachother since we are after all doing an essay together" he says, smiling one of those smiles, not the ones friends make toward eachother, but one of the smiles before friendship which basically says "well I barely know you". The elevator opens with the same sound it closes with, the market crawling with people. I softly grab Alex's arm sleeve as I intricately lead us both out of the crowd and down the steps; letting go of the soft but rough jacket which lays perfectly around his body, almost like a hug.
"This way, we can go to the park behind my house" I softly say, smiling as I start walking us down the neatly molded sidewalk heading towards my house, Alex following right beside me, smiling a smile which even makes me smile.
"What's making you so excited?" I say softly and curiously.
"We live on the same road!" He says shocked and excited, pointing to the blue house which is the house exactly after the immediate Yellow house to my left. The road beside us pitch black like it was newly paved, as long as I remember it has always been pitch black, untouched by machinery or ruined my any natural causes. I smile, pointing towards my house, softly nudging him as he is distracted by a vibrate yellow butterfly fluttering it's wings infront of him.
"thats my house..!" I say, weirded out that his house was so close to me, not in the bad way but in the way where you wondering out of all the possibilities, that, that house was the one the new kid moved into. Well now that I think of it, Mrs.Betty used to live there, but I'll refrain from telling him that for now, maybe the news having the possibility of creeping him out. We walk through my yard on a Brock path straight to the park. As we get to the park, I sit at a grey, metallic picnic table, a jungle gym on the left side of us and my house on the right side.
"So, you lived here all your life?" He asks, smiling like he is almost intrigued to hear about my life story, about my family. Wait, my family, the same family that was no longer nuclear.. no longer perfect. I push the thought out of my head, smiling at him, his grey eyes sticking out and not in a bad way, not even close to a bad way.
"Yeah, I mean things were a little rough in the past, but everything is perfect now" I say, smiling. He puts his hands on the table about to sit down, one of his hands accidentally touching one of mine; the soft and well sculpted hand sending tiny tingles through my arm, tingles I haven't felt in a long time, possibly never before. He eyes softly widen, moving his hand quickly like he commited a crime.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to accidentally touch your hand..!" He says, a little worry boiling within his eyes.
"It's ok-" My voice is cut off from the soft and nonchalant holler of my mom's voice, calling for me. I look to my roght, towards the perfectly painted blue house, seeing my mother in a window which overlooks the park.
"ill be right there! Let me just walk Alex home!" I say calmly back, getting up as Alex softly gets up too, patting my back with a friendly pat.
" it's okay James, I can walk home but I might stop by later for the essay, is that okay?" He says, more camly, more comfortable.
"Sure! yeah, sure just stop by anytime!" I say as he smiles and nods, walking away towards his house and I walk towards mine almost like it was some sort of secret meeting. I walk back through the yard, past the beautiful oak tree and to the front yard. I open the door as I hear Trey and a women's laugh, most likely hillary comming front the living room.
"Hey little bro! Hillary and I are in here if you wanna come and join us!" Trey calls from the living room, his voice sounding a little concentrated as they are likely playing Jenga, like they always do. I softly turn directly to my right, walking into the living room, Trey and Hilary sitting on the white, rounded carpet which lays on the dark, wooden, and polished floor. The fireplace to Trey's roght, his back towards me, focused on Jenga. The dark brown couch lies to his left, so as the light, wooden coffee table.
" I would play but I got to be started on an essay" I say, Trey smiling and his closest friend sits across from his staring at me, smiling.
"Okay James, see you later haha!" She says, taking her turn at Jenga.
"See you later Hillary!" I say, walking back out of the living room and up the stairs heading into my room, softly shutting the door and laying on my bed. My eyes start to softly flutter asleep, the room getting dark as I peacefully fall asleep in my bed.
