THE KISS OF DAWN

"You have a girlfriend now?" asked Nathan. " - and here am I thinking that you haven't moved on yet!"

Kiev stared at the stranger in his arms. "I don't know her..."

"Right, you don't know her...she just called you 'darling' what irony!" shouted Nathan.

Kiev heard a distinct sound of police cars. "We need to go now!"

Kiev placed the girl on the pavement and stood up facing his brothers. Dylan was crying silently at the corner. Nathan was still waiting for his reply.

"The police are coming." added Kiev.

"Then let them, we need to tell them what happened." replied Nathan.

"No." said Kiev and there's finality in his tone. He went to their crashed car and took his mother's backpack.

"Since when did you order around?" said Nathan with an irritated voice.

"Since mom died." said Kiev.

Nathan snarled then grabbed Kiev's shirt. "Don't you ever! - " His teeth were clenched and his eyes were fierce.

"But its reality..." Kiev's eyes were focused.

"Kiev's right Nathan." commented Dylan, his eyes were different, and revenge was written all over it.

"What? This is Kiev's fault!" said Nathan.

"There's nothing we can do about that, Mom said we can't contact the police and she told us to contact LONG." replied Dylan.

"Don't tell me you believe that." there was sadness in Nathan's eyes.

"I need to know the truth." confirmed Dylan.

Kiev stared at Nathan with a-told-you-so look.

"We need to go, the police will be here in ten minutes." demanded Kiev.

"How did you know that? I don't hear anything." questioned Nathan.

Kiev snorted. "You can't, but I can."

"Oh, yeah, you have super hearing now." spluttered Nathan.

"I'm not asking you to believe Me." said Kiev.

"Good." replied Nathan.

Kiev sighed. " - but we need to work together, I think someone is trying to kill our family and it's not about me or the things that I have done...You may hate me, you may hate the world but we're still brothers and that will never change." It left Nathan quiet like someone cut his tongue off.

"Now, we need to go." added Kiev.

"How about her?" said Dylan pointing to the mysterious girl lying on the cold pavement.

"We can leave her there." replied Kiev.

"Why? She'll freeze to death and she knows you, maybe she can help us." protested Dylan.

"She's one of the villains, how can she help us?" pointed Kiev.

"Well, I think she's not bad and we can ask her about those men who attacked us." complained Dylan.

"I think he got a point Kiev." interrupted Nathan.

Kiev raised his hands like an act of surrender. Nathan carried the girl as they run through the field, they live in Greenville, Maine. So, there are lots of forests and green fields there, the population are not that high, most houses were far from each other. So it is very peaceful and very different from New York. Since they were little they always move to another state every year because of their father's company. Even though they had live there for almost a year, it was the perfect home for them.
