Y/N's POV

Ashley Frangipane, beautiful, isn't it? This is the woman I have fallen in love with, yet she is also my best friend. I've known this goddess since my freshman year in high school, and as seniors we are closer than ever. Realizing that you've fallen in love with your best friend can be a blessing, yet a curse at the same time. It's positive in the way that nobody knows you better than them, your tastes, your dislikes, what makes you nervous, or what your favorite flavor of a candy is, little things that mold an inconceivably powerful bond. Sadly, it can be extremely negative in the fear that if you were to admit your feelings, you could potentially lose one of the- if not the, most important relationship(s) in your life.

Back to reality, I'm waiting by the vending machines near my seventh period for Ashley. We basically always meet up here after school, we usually go to the library, her place, or wherever we feel like being; as long as it's together, of course. "Y/N!" I hear the blue haired beauty rasp as she quickly walks towards me, her hands fiddling with the zipper on her bag as a look of frustration makes its way across her beautifully sculpted face, her jaw locking as she groans at the backpack. "Hey, Ash. Need help with that?" I chuckle as she keeps yanking at the jammed zipper. She sighs in relief and laughs. God, I love that sound. "Yeah, thanks kiddo." She replies, an embarrassed blush spreading across her cheeks as she hands me the bag. I inspect it and see that the zipper is caught on some loose fabric from inside the bag. I manage to pull the fabric out and zip up her bag. She smiles and takes her bag, pulling me in for a hug. "Thank you, also- I missed you." She mumbles into my ear as her head lays on my shoulder in our embrace. "No problem, didn't miss you too much though." I say nonchalantly and turn around, making my way to the library. I hear her fake gasp before a heavy weight is thrown onto my back. "Liar." She whispers in my ear. I giggle and shake my head as she pinches my sides. "Let's go!" She exclaims while lacing our fingers together and dragging me in the other direction. "Ash? Where are we going, I thought-" "Shh, it's a surprise" She cuts me off, turning her head to wink at me. Butterflies erupt in my stomach at the small gesture. I'm in way too deep, fuck.

She pulls me into the parking lot and we pile in her pickup truck, well it's her father's to be more specific. "Ashley, you know I don't like surprises." I say, turning to look at her as she flicks her hair over her shoulder and cranks on the engine, it beginning to roar to life. "Hey, if I didn't think you'd like this, I wouldn't have even considered it okay? Do you trust me?" She questions me, a serious look from her amber eyes staring deep into mine as she rubs her thumb on my hand in a soothing manner. "I do." I reply, meaning it completely. She smiles and nods, turning back around to pull out of the parking lot. After a 20 minute drive, she pulls up to a small park and cuts off the engine. With the fading sunlight cascading over the trees surrounding the area, I can't help but be stupefied by the beauty. "Damn, it's gorgeous Ash." I say, getting out of the car. "I know." She replies, taking my hand and leading me to a spot under a grand oak tree. She lays down a blanket she grabbed from the backseat and sits down, scooting over and patting the spot next to her as she grins. I smile and sit next to her, leaning back onto the tree. "You were right. This place is very lovely." I say once we settle. She nods and leans her head on my shoulder. "I like to come here and clear my head, it's therapeutic in a way. I can always figure out my thoughts and feelings here." She says contentedly. I hum in understanding. "I can see why." I reply. She sits up and leans her head against the tree also, causing me to almost gasp at the way the rising night sky falls upon her face. My eyes trace her delicate features, entrancing me completely. I'm not able to comprehend what she's saying, I only know she's beginning to say something having to do with the stars. She turns her head to look at me and I realize how close our faces are. She stops speaking and her eyebrows furrow in confusion. "What's wrong?" She questions in a nervous tone. "N-nothing." I reply quickly turning my head up to the night sky. "Y/N." Ashley says in a demanding voice. I slowly turn my head back to her, avoiding her eyes. She scoots closer to me and lays a hand on my leg. My eyes shoot to her and she gulps. "Y/N." She repeats once again, yet this time in a shaky voice. I nod and she opens her mouth to speak, yet nothing comes out. She closes her eyes for a moment then looks back to me. She slowly moves her hand to my jacket, almost as an attempt to pull me closer so I won't leave. "Y-yes?" I reply. She licks her lips. "Kiss me." She whispers, her grip on my jacket tightening. My eyes widen in surprise. "Please, I can't take it anymore. Please, just kiss me." We slowly lean in and I move my hand to her porcelain cheek, rubbing the pad of my thumb over it. Our lips then connect and my god, if heaven exists, then this truly is it. Our lips fit together like a puzzle, finally connected. The cliche fireworks explode throughout my body, I feel electricity surging through my skin where my hand is in contact with her. After a minute or so, we pull away. I'm not able to fight the smile that spreads across my face. "Finally."  I breathe out, causing her to smile also. "You don't know how damn long I've been wanting to do that, Y/N." She says, tracing my bottom lip with her finger. "I was terrified more than anything that you didn't feel the same." I say. "Oh babe, I think we both know by now that our love is definitely mutual." I freeze. Her eyes widen. "I-I mean-" I cut her off by connecting my lips to hers. "I love you too." I say as we pull apart. She smiles and tackles me to the ground,  making me laugh. "I am insanely in love with Y/F/N." She says, leaning her forehead against mine. I grin and kiss her nose, causing her to blush. "And I am crazily fucking in love with Ashley Frangipane." I say back. She grins and peppers my face with kisses, making me giggle. "Baby, that tickles!" I whine. She pulls away and raises a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at me, smirking. "Baby? I definitely could get used to the sound of that." She says. I pinch her side and she giggles. "Oh shut up and kiss me." I quietly chuckle. She laughs once more and nods, connecting our lips once again.
