"S-she would h-have died!" I end up saying, filtering out about 97% of what I wanted to say, my words shivering like my bones. His gaze whips back to me, still in his nonchalant pose, leaning against the wall, putting the glass into his back pocket.

"With that punishment, yes, but she wouldn't have gotten that punishment." He states, standing back up and approaching, the ones who wrapped the towel around me, a boy with skin the same as Jackson but darker, and a girl, scales growing from her spine up to her neck and fading back into tanned skin, cower back into the crowd as Terrence towers over me. "She probably would have just had to go on the wall for the duration of my speech, you on the other hand did something that would put you in danger, which it did. You took the fall for her, something that could wind up with your carcass strewn across the floor, blood pooling around you." He says, bending down, his cold breath on my face, sending more chills down my spine and making the damp hairs on the back of my neck stand up. A shadow cascades over me as he stands at full height again "The first thing you learn is that Villains look after themselves, no one is top priority except for you. What you did was a very heroic thing," His eyes darken a shade of blue as he looks down his nose at me "And that is the stupidest thing you could ever do." Hanging in the air, that how he leaves his words, even after the moments of breathlessness it feels like they are still there, pressing down on me, their weight about to crush me.

The whole time the crowd has been silent, holding their breath, same as me. It was after another couple seconds that he turns to them, my breath escaping me as his cold gaze flicks away. "Since this set us behind for so long, you will have to make that time up tomorrow, class will begin an hour earlier." I could see in their eyes they were groaning, but obviously they were too busy being scared shitless to do so. "Now if this little distraction is over with, shall we continue." It's more like a statement than a question. "Good" he goes to walk through the crowd at the hallway but they all part for him, each one's back pressed against the wall or sprinted back to the larger room.

I just sit there glaring at him as he leaves and the other's after him, only sparing a second glance at me, some with smirks, other's with grimaces, and few with sympathy. Standing, now that was a feat, I have never felt more physically strained than right now, trying to do something I learned at the age of 1. Under me, my legs wobble, threatening to bring the floor back to me, but a pair of hand, tan and soft and slender, grab me before I can. "Come on we can't be left behind." Says a voice, soft, yet snakelike. I grasp hold of the thin shoulders that help me up.

"t-tha-" is all that I can muster but she only nods, her blue hair, the same color as her scales, ruffles from the ponytail she secured it in.

"No problem, I wass like you once." The s being dragged out longer than it should have. "I'm Calinda." She whispers as she helps me through the door, using the towel to dry my hair. "This is Raiden" the other boy, darker than Jackson approaches slowly.

"You can call me Rai." He says softly, a smile not entering his lips but playing in his eyes, which are almost white except for the light gray outer circle of his iris and pupil.

"Edra" I breathe out.

"Yess, we heard." A sound of distress in Calinda's voice is almost barely festering, but I let it go.

"-his is what I meant by 'on the wall'" the sickening voice rings out, still monotone. As we approach I can see that the girl, the one with red hair, is doing a hand stand against the wall, her back bending to almost form the looks of a chair, her butt level with her shoulders. "Since this is a special occasion, I will demonstrate what will happen the angrier you make me." Her huffing breath she makes as the large textbook drops onto her chest is almost satisfying. Is that a good thing, that I like to see her in pain? "My mood may also affect how sever your punishment will be." He continues and grabs another textbook off a shelf that I never noticed before. Again she huffs as he drops it onto her chest; it slams against the textbook that already resides there. "The severity of your punishment will most likely also depend on my opinion of you." He says grabbing three more of these textbooks and letting all of them slam onto her chest. He leans down toward her red face that has beads of sweat trickling down her forehead "I personally hate cowards who prey on the weak, physical strain and public humiliation should teach you not to take handouts from others. This is a gift from me to you, the gift of humility." His face mirrors the emotions in his monotone voice as he raises and paces in front of her before the crowd. "Let's see where to begin." Tapping his index finger against his lower lip he furrows his eyebrows as he thinks for a few paces. "There is the fact that she's a bastard, her mother was a whore who slept with whoever had the best bong." He started and some of the crowd exchanged looks as they gazed back at the redhead who was too strained to speak out "When she turned twelve she thought that beating the innocent children that had it better than her was justice. Well that was until she met a boy whom she fell in love with. Gosh, no longer a virgin at 13, just to find that he just wanted to get her knocked up." He continued, a strangled sound coming from her throat. "Not to mention finding out she was pregnant that same day." I just blinked, he did not just tell everyone her deepest darkest secret like that. "And then again abortion was always an option, but no, abuse was more her style." He continued pacing still "And then she fell into a vat of toxic waste, losing it, but acquiring fire." He laughed sarcastically "My favorite is what you used it for" he said turning to her.
