Chapter 3

For as long as I could remember I was always taking pictures.

When my dad came home from his business trip which wasn’t very often, he would bring back dozens of postcards and photographs landscapes of artic cold, hot, sunny, exotic and mysterious places.

I remember being amazed that a small box could capture such magnificent scenes.

Funny enough it was my father who bought me my very  first camera a small, yellow, plastic disposable. The roll of photographic film was gone and wasted in a day but it didn't matter because I had found something I was good at .

I soon found myself spending all my allowance on numerous cheap disposable cameras and when my dad came home I made him pay for the rolls of film I had finidhed to be printed.

I don’t know if dad was impressed by my photographs or just enjoyed watching my enthusiasm over photography either way that Christmas I received a brand new, silver digital, camera.

My mother obviously disapproved and sternly reprimanded my father for buying me such an expensive gift, that I would break in a couple of days.

She was flabagasted and astonished when months after that Christmas; the camera was still alive and clicking.

At first I took pictures of the nearby scenery; the park, the garden, the sunsets and sunrises, the neraby beach etc. but my young self soon felt that taking pictures of the local scenery was getting incredibly boring when the scenery was no where near as interesting as the ones in the pictures dad had given me.

It was then I discovered my love of taking pictures of people. At first it was all innocent things like children playing in the park and mothers gossiping with other mothers.

Until one day when I was looking over all my pictures, I came across what seemed like an innocent picture children playing in the park but then I noticed something I hadn’t noticed when I had been taking it, behind a tree were two people kissing and one of them was my mother.

That day I discovered my love of capturing the unknown. Teachers who were supposedly our role models doing things they shouldn’t be doing.

The ‘perfect’ couple not so perfect anymore and mothers that couldn’t be trusted. Secrets became my obsession and my downfall.

After dad left, I threw away my digital camera along with my numerous cheap, disposable ones. I only kept that first small, yellow, plastic disposable. The one that started it all.

It wasn’t until the next day after I had thrown away all my cameras that I realised I had nothing to take pictures with.

I knew what camera I wanted and I had been Saving up for it for ages a Nikon D3100 but they cost a lot and it took me a whole extra, agonising year to save enough money to afford one.

But finally after saving birthday, Christmas and pocket money, I was able to hold my dream camera in my hand and it’s been there ever since.

When I finish senior year I plan on moving to a big city like LA and New York and take pictures of celebrities, politician and VIP’s doing truly scandalous things. There most deadly secrets revealed. I’ll be rich, famous beyond imagination, everyone will know my name.

My mother will watch enviously as I get everything she has ever wanted and those arrogant, lowlife, populars will wish they had been nicer than me.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter the next chapter will be what happens during lunch expect major drama:)
