Chapter 13; The Great Turning and Lost (Catellus)

Me and Feles were suppose to get ready for Rex's Turning because he become of age, since Claws attack but Me and Feles had other plans. Leona was training the Gems so they can make there first gems to give to Macula, Viola and Leo (Mother was with the cubs). Father was with Rex because they needed to talk and Bamboo wanted to get to know Aurora better.

We were all outside, Mel like usual kept quiet while she stared at us with concern.

Mel couldn't help it anymore.

"You, we need to get ready!" Mel whimpered.

"How about you get ready and we'll play?" Feles said as she slipped into a mud puddle.

In case you haven't guess, Feles is a tomboy and Mel is a quiet and clean type but not a girly-girl.

"Haha! Now you need a bath!" I laughed knowing Feles hates baths, loves the aqua not baths.

"I'll give you a bath!" Feles hissed as she pounce on me. We started to rolled around in the now muddy grass.

A roar came from the cave and Leona came over to us, along with the Gems.

She didn't look happy.

"Why do you...have to be...cover in MUD!" Aunt Leona said with a tone of anger that Mother usually uses when we get in trouble.

Then Leona smiled as Adamas came forward.

"Adamas," Leona looked to the Lioness.

"Yes?" Adamas asked politely.

"Show your brother and sister the power of the tempestatis." Then Leona looked to us again.

She asked Mel to come over to her.

I look above me and seen a dark cloud over our heads.

"Feles, you have to play near a mud puddle?" I asked her now in anger because I hate baths and aqua.

"Yes." Feles said with a laugh.

I hate you. I said in my head as I looked at Feles smiling at the cloud.

Then the rain started to pour on our heads. The grass and mud grew more wet. Everything under this shadow was now soak, but everywhere the sun touches was perfectly dry.

"Fine, we get it!" I roared over the thunder. I'm tried of being soak from head to paws. "Can you make the Watersprinkler turn it off?"

Bad moved because that only made Adamas mad, so the sprinkle turned into a heavy downpour.

   Finally Adamas made the rain stop then she made a gust of ventas to blow at us. It didn't help. I looked like a fluff ball that got stuck by lighting.

We went back to the Nursery and I tried to clean (or smooth it out is more like it) my fur but it failed. Regina finally noticed me and took pity and she cleaned me.

"Thank you, Reg!" I said to Regina as I leaped onto Feles for another game of tackle.

A noises came from outside and me, Feles, Mel and Regina all took a peek outside.

We saw father changing back from his Dragon form to his Tiger form as he followed the angry grunts that Rex is making.

Rex wanted to what a dragon may look like but something in that "father son" talk set him off.

We all (even Regina) went down to the lower part of the cave, to listen. It was easy to peek our heads through the front way because Navy and Rex was too busy to notice anything.

"You don't understand," Navy started.

"No! You don't understand!" Rex shouted back. "I don't want to leave the Insulam for some dumb Training!" Rex eyes were full of rage.

Weird, what is Training? I thought to myself.

"Rex," Navy begin starting to get angry. "I just asked you. You need more Training either from me or some Dragon!"

Ah! This must be about Rex taking Father's place as soul Protector. Uncle Claws was Protector too but we all know that ship had sailed in the wrong direction.

"Why is the only other Dragon that doesn't hate my kind, lives on the Farlands!" Rex yelled but quickly made his tone softer as he soon realizes that he's talking to a Dragon. "Why do your kind hates mine?" Rex asked Navy in a cub like way. His anger was drained out of him.

Father simply smile and sat next to Rex. "Long ago a Griffin named Malum and a Phoenix named Bellum, had fought each other almost to the death." Navy took a deep breath as he thought for a minute. "The fight turned into a war and it only ended because Rex Sol had been killed in the process. Regina Orbis had order the Dragons to kill Malum and Bellum for their crimes." As the tiger finished, he looked at Rex. Rex was still starting at the ground.

Leona must have heard and seen everything because she startle all of us by saying. "Navy, you have eavesdroppers among you. Oh please be careful of what you say." She said as we stumble into the cave.

And with that Leona left. We all turned our heads to Navy. He just stared right back.

Regina was the only one who looked ashamed. "Sorry, Father," She met Navy's eyes. "We have no excuse besides of being curious." She looked sharply at us, so we nod our heads in agreement.

"Malum means Evil." Rex met Navy's eyes. "That is the great Tempestatis of Evil isn't?" Rex said.

"Yes but the forbidden topic is taught to youngling ShapeShifters" Navy told us. "It's not a crime for you to learn this." Navy explained.

Navy looked at Regina. "Oh, it's fine!" Regina finally lifted her eyes from the ground. "You may not be ShapeShifters but you have special Gifts." He explained to us but still left me puzzled. "Now go and get ready for Rex's Turning!" Navy said as he left the cave.

"Rex?" Regina said as she drew closer to Rex.

Rex only said. "Not now." And he walked away leaving us confused.
