Tale of Panthera Regina; Part 2

Chapter 15; Dragons, Pegasus, ShapeShifters (Mel)

When we had entered through the Pardus gates, we saw a lot of ShapeShifters, Dragons and Pegasusi. They all came in different colors, some were bright blue like the sky, red like blood and pink like a flower. Then I noticed the columns that came in all the colors and they also have carvings on them. The carvings had all the Royals faces like Regina Glacies (a Snow Leopard), Rex Pars (a Harpy Eagle) and Rex Sol (a Bengal). Those are the only ones that I have registered.

The others were marveled as well. I looked all around and something caught my eye, North of me was a small silver-gray dragon with blue eyes staring at me. The dragon appeared to be in mid-shift because it didn't looked like a full dragon.

The dragon gave us (me) a cold stare.

"Don't mind Lex." Leona said, noticing my gaze.

She gave me a good reason to not to stare at the dragon.

"What is he?" I asked and Feles and Catellus jumped in.

"Is he a Impala?" Feles asked excitedly.

Feles and Catellus always enjoys disobeying adults but Leona was not a patience creature when it comes to younglings, more to my brother and sister.

"He's a Phascolarctos cinereus." Leona simply replied.

"A what?" They both shouted and then laugh.

Leona didn't looked pleased. That seems to be a pattern, Feles and Catellus do something and Leona's expression is always 'I wish I could kill you.'

"That is the Latin name for Kola." Leona said with a gasp that submitted defeat.

"Will we be learning it?" Adamas wondered.

"Oh, please say yes!" Crystallo and Carbunculus started beg.

"We will." Rex finally answered the Gems and they gasped with relief. "I learned it in Schooling."

"I didn't!" Regina hissed like a snake.

"You weren't in my class." Rex said with fancy head movement but Regina tackled him to the ground while we all laugh (besides Leona) at the sight.

Then a huge purple dragon with red horns came into view. He had black and blue rosettes and spots. He didn't looked friendly, now I prefer Leona's gaze over his.

"Leona, why is a Griffin, Phoenix and non-Shifters here?" He growled with a voice similar to Tornado's.

"They have special Gifts and special Gifts requires special Schooling!" Leona snapped at him. She looked over to us. "This is Griffin Rex, Princess Regina, InsignisKeepers Adamas, Crystallo and Carbunculus. The GateKeepers Catellus, Feles and Mel." Then she turned to Aurora. "Aurora was born on the week of the Ignis Luna."

The Dragon didn't seemed pleased at the sight of us.

"Oh sorry," Leona said with a smirk. "Younglings this is Dragon Remus, he's a Proteles cristatus or a Aardwolf." Leona now looked quite pleased with herself.

No one spoke because Remus was staring us down. He took a deep breath. "Very well but the Griffin and the Phoenix have to stay in their birth shift." Then Rumus turned and walked away.

"You may have different classes but try to stay together. Most of these Shifters are unfriendly." Leona said.

Luckily, me, Catellus and Feles were in the same classes. The Gems weren't so lucky.

Our teacher is a Pegasus name Viso. Her natural form is a Dall's porpoise or Phocoenoides dalli (they like to used the "correct names)." In her class, we will learn how to fly, I explained that we can't but she says we can.

"Pegasus Viso," A brown bear named Acus, who was in mid-shift, said.

"Yes, Shifter Acus?" Viso asked.

Pegasus is like a name of wether they are like regina or rex. Shifter is a nickname for ShapeShifter. Oh and for the first time, Catellus and Feles are actually quiet for once!

"Why is the Royals here?" Acus asked in a friendly tone.

Acus is one of the few who actually is playing nice.

"Magistra Leona," She paused staring at us. "said they have special Gifts." She took another deep breath. "Let's begin shall we."

The roof had suddenly open up to the sky. They say that the roof had been made by an veterum InsignisKeeper. Me, Catellus and Feles just stared at the sky as are classmates took to the sky. The Shifters all knew how to fly without the class but Viso wanted to teach them how to fly under stress.

She walked over to us and smiled. We watched the ground.

"Pick your target and jump." Viso commanded.

"What?!" Everyone screamed.

"You'll be the ones to try to knock them down. They'll try to throw you off. I'll catch you if you fall." Viso said but that was not very comforting.

So we looked at each other and took a deep breath. I landed on Acus, Catellus landed on TT (she's a Shifter, her natural form is a Kola) and Feles got a grumpy, little blue dragon (all I knew about him is that he is a Peregrine falcon).

We all got knocked off.

"Try it again!" Viso said in a well too eager tone.
