When the darkness engulfed us I was filled with a sudden sense of a fear as I wasn't prepared. I was starting to think that maybe something went wrong after a couple minutes. Thats when a light appeared as if I was exiting a dark tunnel the sunlight making my pupils dilate to their limit. I had to shield my eyes for a minute. Once my eyes adjusted I saw that we were not in any place I knew. It was an enormous city with people bustling around everywhere. I spun around to face the warlock that took me here. " Where are we?" I asked. He simply ignored me and walked on. "How did you do that?" but he continued to walk as if I wasn't there. "Why won't yo- " "you ask too many questions you know that" he said annoyed. He's annoyed, I'm the one that was taken from my home to someplace I don't even know I thought to myself feeling my blood boil with anger. " This way" he said turning into an alleyway.
"Where are we go-" I stopped, seeing his the look he gave me. So we walked in silence coming to a bare wall. I was going to ask what is it but thought better of it. He pulled a staff out of his cloak that I didn't even know he had there. He held in front of him horizontally muttering to himself, a few seconds later the wall shifted slightly sideways revealing a gap. The warlock strode in at a fast pace. I hesitated wondering what awaited in the narrow passage. " Whats taking so long!?" the man shouted "hurry, the wall won't stay open forever!" Not wanting to be left outside I entered into the dark passage. We walked in darkness for a while not saying anything until there was a faint light up ahead getting brighter with each step.
The narrow passage opened into a large cavern that was bustling with people. I opened my mouth to ask a question but a glare from the warlock shut me up. " To answer your question we are at one of the many bases that was ordered to be set up by the council long ago" he said as if reading my mind. " We set up these bases to be ready for an unfortunate event where were overpowered in the city". " Why would we be overpowered, by who?" I asked without him shutting me up this time. " There are people out there who want to see us gone, who fears us or feel jealous of our power". I was starting to feel uneasy about wandering around in any city.
"Master!" a feminine voice shouted from among the crowd. "Master Mour!" a woman shouted appearing from the crowd. She was small with brown hair. " Mour?" I asked, he sent me another glare which by now I knew that I should shut up. "Ah, Abigail" the warlock said smiling. I had to wonder if this girl was his daughter, there's no way he would treat anyone that kindly. " It's been a while" she said looking me up and down "you have a new apprentice". " Yes I got her earlier today" he said as if I was a new pet. "Abigail" she said holding out her hand "Olivia I said shaking her hand. "So what are you doing here?" she asked. "Were here to meet Diana but it seems she's running a bit late". "Well she hasn't changed a bit" Abigail said. " Well we'll be on our way, tell us if Diana shows up" "Will do sir" she said saluting. At that we walked across into the crowd of bustling people. Everyone here looked liked travelers from different countries, I had to wonder if there was stations like this one all over the world.
We walked into an opening in the wall that seemed to be a tunnel. There must have been hundreds of rooms down here, all of them were numbered from 106 to 553 from what I could see until we turned a corner down a hall with no rooms just two large doors at the end. We walked down the hall at a brisk pace. He came to a stop in front of the door and I knew that he expected me to wait outside. "When am I going to come to these little meetings of yours and not wait outside all the time?" I asked but he just ignored me and entered.
I stood there waiting for him to exit. I couldn't stand here forever. I walked along the wall admiring the intricate designs. These markings looked old as if they were from a millennia ago. There was a group of people standing against to what seemed to be a dragon. A shiver went through my spine, I felt as if I was being watched. I turned to see a door. I don't remember seeing a door here, I thought. I looked at the huge double doors for any sign of movement. After a few seconds, nobody came out so I walked quietly towards the door. I reached out to grab the handle but as soon as my fingers touched the handle I was blinded by a bright light. I bunch of images flashed through my mind,I could only catch a few, a woman, then a group of people staring at a man with an expression of utter hatred and betrayal, and finally the woman again handing a baby to someone, and the images kept coming. Then I jolted as if waking from a scary dream, staring at Master Mour " What do you think you're doing?" he asked. " I was" was all I managed. " There was a door" I said. He looked at me with a puzzled expression. I looked back but the door was gone.
We walked back without him saying another word. When we got back to the main room with the bustling people he was called to another section of the base so he directed me in the direction of my room.
I came up to a tunnel like the one before. These had the same kind of doors but the numbers were higher, it started at 1090, mine was 1122. As I walked down the hall I noticed that strangely there weren't many people, every person I did see were walking by themselves. as I walked a little further there was a man standing there who seemed to be lost, which was strange since there weren't many turns to get lost at. He noticed me and smiled " Hello there" he said with a slight accent, french maybe. He wore a red suit and had dark hair. " It seems that I got a little turned around, can you tell me where room 1099 is?" he asked. "Yeah it's just down the hall form here" I said. That's when I felt it, a slight shiver like the one I felt when I saw that door. " Thank you very much" he said extending his hand "Montague" he said " Olivia" I said in return " Montague sounds like your surnam-" I was cut off as soon as touched his hand, I was blinded by a bright light again. I bunch of images flashed through my mind but it was different this time, it showed destruction, the room with bustling people except there was no people, it was in complete ruins, and Montague standing there with a triumphant smile on his face.
