Jon looked up and I got a better look at his face. He really grew since we were kids. Somehow he got a tan but it fit him really well. He was no longer the scrawny small Jonny I knew back in Winnipeg. I wondered how he got all that muscle. He looked...incredible.
He scanned my face carefully. I couldn't imagine how disgusting I looked. Being on long flights does that to you."Kara? Is that you?" He finally asked. "It is." I felt myself blush. "Wow. You look great." He grinned down at me. "I could say the same to you. It's been so long." He noted. "It has." I awkwardly smiled back. I heard Violet rummaging behind the door. Thankfully. "Well Kara it was good seeing you again. I have to go to practice but I'll come by later okay? I really want to catch up." He looked so happy. I saw home in his eyes which made me feel so much better about being here. I nodded. "See you at 6?" He invited and I nodded again.
"Sorry about that! Hi, I'm Violet, you must be Kara. I see you've met Toews." She gave me the 'I know something you don't grin'. I shrugged, "We go back a while." She looked confused but didn't question me further although I figured that would come soon enough. She helped me with my bags and let me in. Violet was gorgeous. She had flowing reddish brown hair that she flipped over her shoulders as she spoke. I felt a little jealous but brushed it aside fast. She'd have to teach me everything she knows about style.
"Would you like a grand tour?" She pulled my bags behind her. "I'd love that." I followed her closely. The apartment was a lot bigger than I imagined it would be. I figured a big city would have cramped spaces, barely big enough to move. I'm glad I was wrong.

"Now for the grande finale!" Violet led me to the last door at the end of the hallway. "Now I hope you like this, its the best guest room!" She twisted the knob and walked in. I immediately fell in love. The first thing I noticed was the view. Two wall to ceiling windows provided the best view of the rest of the city. It was gorgeous. The bed was pushed up against the far white wall. A plain gray comforter was draped over the mattress. A empty wood desk was against the opposite wall. The closet was incredibly large, I knew I'd want to buy some new clothes to fill it. The space came with its own bathroom thankfully. I stopped feeling so nervous after all. With a room like this, who could be?
"Thank you so much for letting me live here." Violet must've been happy with my facial expression. She squealed in delight. "Of course! We're going to be best friends!" Violet squeezed my arm enthusiastically. It has to be exhausting being so happy and excited all the time. "Would you like to go out and get coffee? I'll let you clean up first. Or if you just wanna stay in thats fine?" She placed one arm on the doorway and the other on the door knob. "Coffee sounds great, I'll be out in a minute." She pursed her lips and closed the door.
Looking in the mirror I looked rough. I brushed it out quickly and threw on the only sweater I thought to bring. It hit me how tired I was. Flying 19+ hours takes a lot of someone. I wanted to cancel but I didn't want to hurt my new friends feelings. I felt more than welcome here. A little coffee won't hurt, I pushed myself to follow through with the invitation. I slowly walked to the door, took a breath, put on a smile, and walked out into the living room.
THIS IS SUCH A SHORT CHAPTER IM SO SORRY. I think I'm getting sick again and I wanted to write more but this should be good for now. I'm considering doing a double update tomorrow! Hopefully you all are liking it so far!- Dev :)
