They Can't See Us In The Dark

What if you couldn't be seen in the dark? What if you could live in peace and learn magick in peace? Well here at Sky Star Academy a school for the top magick students of the world, you can.

A 150 years ago a big war broke out against the normy Government and the Wizard Court. The Government wanted to shut us down because we where creating evil wizards. We Tried to be civil and tried to explain to them we had nothing to do with the Dark Ones, but they didn't want to hear this. War broke lose and many people died. Both sides we devastated but the Wizard Court lost. Our magick was nothing against their new aged technology to counter magick. The last of light magick clans went into the hiding. We tried to pass on our learning to the next generations but this wasn't easy with the Government on our hills, This is when the five monarchs created Sky Star Academy. This Academy is protected by The Moon Goddess Nyx. The children that attend this school are protected by the dark. The Normies can't find the school because the school is in perpetual darkness and this darkness renders us invisible to non magick users.

Hey, my name is Itachi Makato. I am the great- great- great grandson of Misato Makato one of the five monarchs, I am the next head of the Makato family. A lot weighs on my shoulders as a first year at SSA. I am already top of my class and the year hasn't even started. I feel like an out cast, a loser, a shut in. It sucks but I have a best friend who has been with me since I was a kid. Well his family serves mine. Kato Nomataki. The Nomataki family has served the Makato family long before The Great War, but Kato and I don't have that kind of relationship. we are Best friends and enrolled in SSA together. I mean he isn't the smartest tool in the shed but he is pretty good looking and gets all the girls.

"Yo Itachi!" Kato yells from down the hall rushing toward me as I walk to our homeroom.

I stop and look at Kato pushing my glasses up my nose. "Almost late on your first day. Nice one." I say as I open the classroom door and get welcomed with a girl slamming into me. I fall over and my glasses fall off my face.

"Ouch." I hear from in front of me as I pick my glasses up and put them on. A face comes into view. A young girl the same age as me sits on the floor rubbing her head. She has pale pink hair and gold eyes.

"Oh my bad." I jump up and extend a hand to help her up.

She smacks my hand away and stands. "Watch where you are going next time baka." She says with a huff as she pushes past me and walks out of room.

I look back at Kato who is laughing at me. "Hey, that's not funny dude."

"It kind of is." He says as we walk to our seats next to the window and take a seat.

The doors open and another childhood friend walks in. I look up and see her, I smile and wave her over. She skips over to Kato and me. "Hey Kato, Itachi." She says taking the seat next to mine.

"Hey Ayano." We say together as she turns to us to tell us about her summer vacation.

Ayano Katachizama is the great- great- great granddaughter of the Third monarch. Our families are very close, so close we are to marry after we finish SSA. We aren't dating or anything and we don't have feelings for each other like that, but what are you to do when your parents plan this when you are a child?

After a while the rest of the students fill the empty seats and get settled in. The bell rings and the door opens and a young woman walks into the class. She is slender with shoulder length brown hair and green eyes. She is holding the class roster in her arms. She walks to the front of the room and puts the roster down. She turns to black board and writes her name. Ko Bayashi in neatly drawn characters. She turns back to the class and smiles.

"Hello I am your Homeroom teacher and also your defensive magick arts teachers Mrs. Ko Bayashi." She smiles and opens the roster. "So your days are split in half. The first half will be normal school, and the second will be magick training." She looks down at the roster then looks up to meet my eyes. "Will the class rep please come to the front of the class and introduce himself?"

I stand and walk to the front of the class and bow. "Hello, My name is Itachi, Itachi Makato." I stand and look out over the classroom. "It is nice to meet all of you." I walk back to my window seat and sit back down.

"Thank you for that Mr. Makato. Now lets take roll." She goes down the list calling out the names of students that I have been in school with since Elementary school.

Then, the teacher calls out, "Samantha Evergreen." A young lady stands from the back of the glass. She has long curly blond hair and big blue eyes.

"Here." She says with a thick British accent. The class begins to murmur and gossip about the outsider.

"Class please quiet down." The teacher says. "Ms. Evergreen, please tell the class where you are from."

She flips her hair and crosses her arms. "I am from England. My mother was from Japan and my father from England. I was born and raised in England. I got my magick from my mother. I was sent here to this school once my magic power came to full mast." She sighs and sits back into her seat.

"Thank you Ms. Evergreen." The teacher finishes off the roster and closes it. "Mr. Makato will you please take this to the office?"

I stand. "Yes ma'am." I walk to the front of the class and take the book and head out of the class room. I step out into the hall and see the girl I bumped into this morning walk out of class B-1. She sees me and turns her nose up at me and heads down the hall.

"Hey, wait up." I shout at her. "I want to apologize for this morning." I say as I catch up to her.

"I do not need an apology from a low life like yourself." She says trying to ignore me.

"Well My name is Itachi Makato and I am sorry for running into you." She stops dead in her tracks.

"Did you say Makato?" She looks up at me shocked.

"Yeah, its my family name. I'm the next head." I say looking back at her. "Why?"

Her eyes light up looking up at me. "No way!" She grabs my arm. "I am so sorry for bumping into you. I am Aika Hayashi."

"Well it is nice to meet you Hayashi." I say smiling pulling my arm away slowly and starting to head down the hall.

"You too Makato." She says catching up to me and walking beside me again. "So you are class rep for A-1? Well of course you are." She laughs at her own question. "I'm class rep for B-1. I guess we will be spending a lot of time together." She says smiling.

"It seems so" I say reaching the office and opening the door. "After you." I offer to let her in first.

She smiles and heads in handing the secretary her class roster. I walk in after her and hand over my class roster. Aika stays to ask a few questions as I walk the brightly light hallways back to my class. I stop at one point and look out the window over the moon lit courtyard. I smile looking over my new life as I head back to my classroom.
