Alexandra Feodorovna (Originally named Alix of Hesse) was the wife of Czar Nicholas II and Anastasia's mother. She was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria, and because of this, was a carrier of hemophilia, a blood disorder that could be found in many of the royal families of Europe at the time. She passed this disease down to Czarevich Alexei Romanov, the heir to the Russian throne, and would go on to hire a Russian mystic by the name of Rasputin to try and help manage the disease. There were plenty of rumors floating around that she and Rasputin had an affair, which damaged the reputation of the Romanov family. She was executed along with the rest of the royal family in 1918 in Yekaterinburg in the basement of the Ipatiev House, and was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church as Saint Alexandra the Passion Bearer.
