Life with Miyoung

"Argh.... so heavy!" Miyoung complained as she puts down the heavy carriage full of fishes, she wipes her sweat form almost covering her face even her torn ragged clothes looks wet.

"Are you okay, Miyoungie~" Her old father asked while carrying another heavy carriage of fishes they've caught in a day. The Hwang's living is fishing at the dawn and they sell them at the coast market nearby their small house that looks more like a haunted with much holes.

"I'm fine appa, you know that somehow I'm stronger than Leo-oppa~" Miyoung flashing her eyesmile showing her not so exisiting muscle on her thin arms made the old man laughed at him followed by her tease brother, Leo at the back carrying their fishing equipment and park their mini boat at the shore.

"Aigoo, so cocky Miyoungie~" Leo teases his younger sister who pouts and crossing her arms annoyed by her brother's playful teasing, the old man stopped them and ordered them to continue their labor before the sunrise.

"Mr. Hwang! Mr. Hwang!" One of the fisherman shouted as he hurriedly run through where the Hwang's with a torn poster in his hand, waving to be noticed by the sharp eyes of the head of their family.

"Oh, In Guk? What happen? Why are you tearing everyone's ears?" Mr. Hwang joked when the man halted infront of them holding his aching knees and breath before he utterly spoke.

"The palace...dae.."

"Hey, hey, are you alright? Leo give me the bottled water over there~" Leo passed the almost half a bottle of water to his father before offering them to the old man, In Guk.

"Thanks, by the way, haven't you heard about the news? It's all over the town now!" In Guk said in between his heavy breathing made the Hwang listen at him attentively, the fishes had long forgotten by them but gossips is more important right now.

"News?" Miyoung interjected.

"Yeah, and you might be the one will won the competition, you know you're beauty?!" In Guk said proudly since the latter is their village pride because of her beauty even without an excessive make up to makes her prettier, simplicity is beauty.

"Competition?" The Hwang said in unison before In Guk nodded.

"If it's physical strength involve, our Miyoung here will definitely take home the prize, ahjussi~" Leo teases again but shut his mouth immediately when he's been glared at by the elders.

"So? What kind of competition is that?" Mr. Hwang asked.

"The Royal Palace held a selection process for the next Crown Princess and the 10 chosen ladies in different district will be able to meet the Prince Kim if they we're lucky, one of them might be the "One" will won his heart to be his sole bride together with a billion won, quite a good chance for your pretty daughter here, right?" In Guk nudges Mr. Hwang's arm playfully before looking at Miyoung who seems to be interested somehow because of the good money offer to be able to feed them for many years and even buy a new house and fishing boat.

"I will join the competition!" Miyoung with a great spirit said made In Guk jump happily but not for Mr. Hwang who seems doubted to send off his youngest to the Seoul and not seeing her for a long time if she would be pick by the Royal Palace.

"No, it's not for you, dear." Mr. Hwang speak pessimistically while rubbing his daughter's back.

"But Appa?!" Miyoung whined as she playfully punch his arm.

"Let Miyoung joined the selection, Appa. We don't even know if she'll be picked as the next Muscle Princess.. Ha ha aha...Ouch!" Miyoung smacked her brother's head when she teased by him regarding her good biceps as a muscle making her more masculine rather than feminine.

"Leo!" Mr. Hwang said firmly.

"Arasso, I will not tease this muscle girl here!" Leo runs for his life as he was being chased by his younger sister.

"Think about her future, Hwang." In Guk encouraged.

"I'll think about it, In Guk hyung but for now I want Miyoungie stay by my side, you know how she resemble my late wife, her mother a lot and I don't want to be away from my only daughter.

"Okay but you know she had a chance to enter the selection, she's quite a beauty and smart for being a mere fisherman and lived here all of her life. Give her a good and bright future to lived on, Hwang. I gotta go see you at the coast." In Guk waved goodbye to Mr. Hwang as his mind clouded with a hard decision on his life but it's for Miyoung's sake.

"I'm afraid how Miyoung's life in the city, help me to get through with this Miran." Mr. Hwang prays to his wife in heaven to show him some guidance on his decision to make for Miyoung's future but afraid that it might hurt her soon because she's poor unlike the other ladies will join the selection.

  "C'mon, Appa we're late!" Miyoung shouted from afar waving at her father whose still standing near the shore. 

"Dae I'm coming!"
