Chapter 3

I wake up to the sound of my alarm indicating it was another day of school. Great! Note the sarcasm. I lazily got up and took a shower almost falling. I threw on a sweatshirt and some jeans. I decided to put my hair up in a ponytail. As I made my way downstairs, I checked my phone and realized I only had 10 minutes to get to school. I'll just stop by Starbucks for breakfast. As I was walking, I felt someone following me. I quickened my pace and didn't look back. I felt someone wrap there arms around me.

"Let me go!" I screamed trying to get out of the persons hold.

"Calm down, Sky!" I turned around and saw Jay standing there laughing.

"It wasn't funny!" I protested trying to keep a straight face but ended up smiling. 

"Was too! Where you headed?" He asked.

"Starbucks." I simply responded.

"Can I come with?" Jay asked flipping hair out of his eyes.

"Sure." 

All the way there Jay and I talked about random things. Soon we arrived, I ordered my usual and Jay ordered a mocha. Once we received our drinks we exited and started making our way to school. 

"So are we hanging out later?" Jay asked nervously.

"Of course! I'll see you." I said before walking towards my locker grabbing my books and heading to class. Luckily the teacher haden't arrived yet. As soon as I sat down Camille started throwing questions at me.

"Where were you?!"

"I was so worried!"

"Do you know how late you came in?!" 

"Do you want to get expelled or suspended?!"

"Do you-"

"Do you want to shut up and let me explain?" I cut her off. Sometimes she was acting like a mother. 

"You're right. Explain."

"Okay well I woke up and lazily went to take a shower and kinda took a bit long and then I went to Starbucks with Jay and then we came and here I am!" I said taking fast.

"Oh okay. As long as you were with someone who you can trust."

"Hey wheres Mrs. Henderson? Shouldn't she be here by now?" I asked noticing she still haden't came.

"I don't-OH MY GOSH!" She whisper-yelled the last part.

"What?" 

"Look." She said turning me around to see Xavier 'Mr. Popular' Covera. Xavier has been my crush since the 8th grade and was now in all my classes this year.

"Hes coming this way! Do I look okay?! Should I strike a pose?!" I panicked as he kept getting closer.

"Calm down! Just act normal."Okay, I can do this. Its just Xavier.

"Hey, Skylar right?" Xavier asked as he sat at the desk beside me. OH MY GOSH!!

"Y-Yeah." I said stuttering a bit. 

"I was wondering.." He trailed off. Is he trying to ask me out on a date?! 

"Yeah..?"

"Do you want to hang out later, like after school?" YES! YES! OF COURSE! AHH!

"Sure." I said trying to act all cool.

"Great. See you later." He said before walking off. 

"What did he say?!" Camille asked scarring me. 

"Weren't you here listening?" 

"Nope! I left to leave you two lovebirds alone." She said wriggling her eyebrows.

"He asked me out on a date. I think." Did he really ask me out on a date or was it just my imagination?

"You think? What'd he say?" 

"He said if I wanted to hang out after school and I said sure." 

"Its a date!" She yelled causing people to stare.

"Class please settle down and take your seats." Mrs. Henderson said organizing her desk, "OKay today we will be learning about.."

I completely zoned out thinking about Xavier. The day went by fast and felt like a blur. Once school was over I quickly headed to my locker. I grabbing my backpack and shoved my books inside. I started walking towards the exit until I felt someone grab a hold of my wrist.

"Hey, weren't we suppose to hang out?" Xavier asked chuckling a bit.

"Yeah, sorry. I thought you'd be out here." I said trying not to blush.

"You weren't trying to ditch me, right?" Xavier asked jokely.

"No, of course not." I chuckled a bit.

"Well, come on! Race you to..the ice cream shop around the block!" Xavier said leaving me behind to chase after him. Soon we arrived at our destination both of us laughing like crazy.

"I so beat you!" Xavier said.

"Nuh-uh! I beat you!" I said still laughing.

"Sure. Now lets order but I'm paying!" Xavier said taking out his wallet before I could protest.

"I'll have a double scoop of chocolate and strawberry!" I said examining the different flavors.

"And I'll have a scoop of chocolate." Xavier said handing the cashier money. Once we got our ice cream we sat at a table near the window.

"Mhmm." 

"Delicious ice cream you got there?" Xavier asked causing me to laugh a bit.

"Skylar?" 

"Jay?"
