I look left and right feeling the steady trickle of blood run down my side. I place my hand on the fairly small open wound applying pressure. Breathing hurts but now that the chest tube is gone it hurts significantly less. I move as fast as I can without damaging my state more heading to school. It's Saturday, no one should be there. I notice an open window and a janitor attempting to clean, though it is relatively impossible to do so.
The window is on the third floor. I have to climb to get there. Now this isn't the best idea but I need to get in there. My change of clothes and equipment are in there.
For about a month Aria and I were planning an escape for me. We brought a prepaid phone, a few spare changes of clothes much different than the style I usually wear, blue and green contact lenses, contact solution, as well as a few necessities to live.
"Well this is gonna be a bitch..." I say to no one in particular and begin my climb, blood leakage having slowed down enough to not be too dangerous.
That, however, doesn't mean I wasn't in danger. I was definitely. If someone saw me, thank god almost no one pays attention in this city, I would be hauled off to jail. If I fell, I would likely die or break something, and I don't need to be back in the hospital.
I somehow manage to get up to the second floor, and sit on this little roof for the auditorium. My wound had reopened.
"Hey! What are you doing up there?!"
And I just got caught. Yay... This day couldn't get any better...
"Well if it isn't Taesia. Didn't think you'd get out of the hospital so quickly after what Kira and Kiba did."
Nevermind. This is perfect. Except... I'm still bleeding... Such a pretty dark red color... I shake my head to relieve myself from the previous stupor and look down at Aria.
"Aria. Thank god. I was trying to get into the building for the kit we made."
"Figured as much. I have rehearsal in the auditorium so the outside door should be open."
I nod and grimace.
"What's wrong?"
"My wound reopened..."
"Taesia! If you're still hurt you should be at the hospital!"
Rationalizing the situation, Aria?
"Considering my parent's aren't going to pay and I didn't need to be put in debt before I even have a job or credit card, I checked myself out without them knowing. The bleeding had stopped..."
"I wish someone would have told me which hospital you were in! You know my phone's broken, so calling wasn't an option. You don't know my mom's number by heart either so that didn't help... and-"
"Aria. Honey. You're rambling again..."
"Sorry."
"It's fine. Just help me figure out how to get down without dying."
"The only way I can think of is if I run up to the second floor stairwell window and let you in."
"That'll work!"
She nods and runs inside. Waiting for an eternity, okay it was really only 5 minutes, she opens the window and I slide inside.
