He swung at me again as I stepped back several different times. I threw punches and he dodged each one. He was quick, but still not as quick as Logan.
I ripped one of the doors off of its hinges and threw it at him. He just barely moved out of the way as it tore a hole in his coat. Blood was drawn and it was clear he didn't have any healing capabilities.
I ran into the room I had just opened up. The place was filled with random junk. Along the walls I saw what looked like jail cells. Rather than metal bars, they were sealed off by light just like the ramp that led us onto Air Force One. They were transparent so I could see everything inside. People were trapped in there. Mostly random civilians I didn't recognize, but one caught my attention. Kaylee was trapped inside of one. Not too far away I found the controls to everything in the room. How convenient. I decided not to open them just yet since that would put her in serious danger.
I turned to the Executioner and asked, "What'd you do to her?"
"Nothing yet," he said. "Supposedly a few guys planned on doing something with her later but they're busy with whoever the other chick is. Oh, looks like they're done."
I turned around as quick as I could and saw a few men wearing armor coated in blood. Just as I turned back to him, I felt a rush of pain go through my stomach and up a couple inches. He had shoved a black knife in me and took off his helmet. His eyes were glowing blue and a burning red scar ran down his left cheek and back up past his lips and to the tip of his nose.
He laughed and said, "They were right. This metal does rip through everything. It ripped through your torso and, pretty soon, it'll go right in between your eyes. Or maybe just through your heart. I'm not sure if your brain would actually be useful to all those science geeks running around. Oh! Speaking of science geeks, her name is Elizabeth. Am I right? Well, that is definitely a brain that we want to preserve. But before we did, I thought a few guys would want to play around with her a bit. I guess you'd call them torturers. Boy, you should've been here about ten minutes ago. The screams could be heard throughout the whole city if you listened closely. I went in to have a look and they really did a number on her. The blood was just everywhere. I crossed Niagara Falls off of my bucket list after that. It's not like she even uses her arms and legs though, right? I mean, her brain is the real deal. But I'm not finished. After her, we've still got you and the rest of the Brady Bunch to deal with. But whatever. She should be dead by now anyways."
He tore the knife out of me and raised a gun up to my head. I heard multiple gunshots from within the room as the pistol went flying from his hand and Logan tackled him from the side. I got up and saw the bodies of the REVO soldiers lying on the floor. Logan punched the Executioner in the face then put a sword in each of his knees. He pressed a button on the control pad and opened up all of the cells. I ran to Kaylee and checked to see how she was.
"Kaylee!" I yelled as I took her in my arms. "Kaylee, wake up!"
I put my hand on her face and she swatted it away. "I'm fine," she said. "Don't make the moment any more dramatic than it needs to be. I'm having a bit of a sucky day."
I laughed as she got up and looked over at Logan as he tossed the Executioner into a cell. He pulled his swords out and grabbed him by the throat.
"I'd make you suffer," he said. "But I'm not in that bad of a mood to be honest."
The Executioner laughed and said with blood in his mouth, "Even though your daughter is dead? We tore off her limbs, left her to bleed, and you're in a good mood?"
Logan punched him again. He was breathing rapidly. "I'm not in a good mood. But I'm not in a bad enough one to torture you like you did to her. My daughter is alive and I made sure of it before I came up here. How? I don't know. I didn't ask the scientists of yours that I had threatened with death. She'll be fine. You won't. I'm going to kill you, but I won't make you suffer. All good men have limits that can be exceeded. But I haven't reached those yet."
He took his hands and gave him an incendiary grenade then pulled the pin. He walked out and shot the control pad, sealing the cell. The grenade set off and the Executioner had become engulfed in flames. Logan watched and sighed in relief.
"You good?" I asked him.
"Yeah. We should help out the men outside. The civilians trapped here have started retaliating with us, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I need to go attend to my daughter."
He walked off and left me alone with Kaylee. I grabbed a gun from a dead soldier and tossed it to her.
"Let's head out."

We exited the building and stopped dead in our tracks. We had walked into a hurricane of blood and bullets. I looked over and kissed her quickly before heading out into the crossfire.
While I was vulnerable to certain weaponry, none of them were properly equipped to handle me. A tank stood motionless a couple hundred feet in front of me and fired missiles at the our allies. I dived behind a broken down truck as one whizzed by me. I got up fired at a few REVO soldiers before kicking the truck straight at the tank. It took out several guys before finally colliding into the metal beast. It didn't exactly do too much so I had to think of something else.
I decided to just wing it. I ran at the tank while emptying magazine after magazine upon every soldier I could see. I ran out of ammo pretty quick so I used my fists. I approached the tank right after it fired a rocket. I shoved my arm into the barrel of its gun. Several soldiers came around but I couldn't let go. I kept my arm inside while flailing my feet at the rest of them. I heard the sound of a missile being readied and covered my ears.
A few seconds later, I was thrown twenty feet away and surrounded by smoke. My vision was somewhat blurry and my ears were ringing a bit, but it didn't last long. I got back up and started firing at every REVO soldier with whatever weapons I could pick up.
Suddenly, a few bullets pierced my arm and chest. I reacted and crouched behind a wall that once belonged to a building. There were a few dozen REVO soldiers in mech suits. Based on the fact that there were bullet holes in my body, it was apparent that these guys had the right guns for this kind of job. I waited patiently for my wounds to heal, but they were too close. They wouldn't heal fast enough.
I prepared to toss a few grenades until I heard a noise coming from the sky. Overhead, several C-130s rained hell on REVO. I smiled and relaxed with my back against the wall. Taking a peek through one of many holes, I watched in joy as each and every soldier fell. Fire and smoke consumed the streets as the military fought with assurance of their victory.
Only moments later, we all walked over rubble and bodies. The sound gunshots fading quickly. It was no longer a battlefield. It was no longer enemy territory. Once again, it was our home. Sure, it may have been broken and falling apart, but we could always rebuild. We'd soon advance with our technology and live normal lives with those we love.

No one could take that away from us.
