"Harleen?"
"It's...it's just Harley." I push up my glasses and shyly correct my new teacher, Mrs. Davis.
"Alright Honey, why don't you stand up and tell us about yourself."
I look around me at the unfamiliar faces. I already hate this place. I nervously stand up, my thin legs shaking a bit, and resist the strong urge to run out of the door.
"Well..I'm Harley. I'm sixteen. My mom and I just moved here last weekend-"
"Why?" A girl with black, curly hair and green eyes interrupts me to ask.
"Divorce...Um. I'm not sure what else
to say."
"Thank you, Harley." Mrs. Davis says as I rush to sit back down. I hear a few quiet laughs around the classroom. I just burry my face in my jacket and spend the rest of the hour imaging that
I'm dead.
