"Yo cousin, Ima be ready in 20 minutes. Scoop me at the front of the school."
"Aii cuh. I'm with Justin so don't be surprised," Teeko Responded.
As I walk down the hallway scrolling down my TL, a gut feeling told me to look up. I laid eyes on the girl Teeko had showed me earlier that morning. She was new in the city and new to this school. As she walked down the hallway I was walking up the hallway and the whole time our eyes were locked. Shorty was a dime and I had to have her. As she passed by me I wanted to speak to her but in the back of my head all I thought about was Ashley. Apparently my mind wasn't fully on her though.
"Excuse me beautiful." I said stopping her in her tracks causing her to turn around in shock.
"I just wanted to let you know you are beautiful and I would love to escort you to wherever your going." I said walking towards her. She began to giggle.
"How sweet of you. I would love that. She said as a smile stretched across her face.
"Do you mind me asking your name?" I asked as we walked down the hall.
"Makayla. And yours?" She looked up at me smirking.
"Malik but I prefer Leek.
"Oohhh. Your the guy that almost got into a fight this morning with my lil buddy huh?" She asked but giggled at the same time.
"Damn, word gets around fast. But yeah it was something like that." I said as I put my head down. She stopped me at the end of the hall.
"It's nothing to be ashamed of. If that's who you are then so be it. Honestly I think you would've beat his ass." She said laughing. Shorty seemed to be down to earth and I liked that.
"Well shit with King and I are much deeper than a lot of people in school know. I try to keep the beef in the streets but sometimes a lot of pressure build up on a nigga and I can't help but to release it." I said as we continued to walk down another hall.
"You ride the bus home or your people pick you up?" I asked.
"Bus."
"Pretty girls do not belong on busses. Lemme take you home." I said leaning on the wall trapping her between me and the window.
"I don't even know you like that. You think Ima trust you enough to take me home ?" She looked at me like I was crazy.
"How about we start off with you taking my number?" She said smirking. I smiled and gave her my phone. She put her number in my phone and took a quick picture for caller ID.
"Now you have to text me cause I don't have your number." She said walking away from me leaving me leaning against the wall. I shook my head and began to walk to the front of the school smiling proudly.Makayla
"Grandma, im home." I yelled through the house. I went in the kitchen to find a note from my grandma that read: Makayla, I am going to go visit your dad and then go grocery shopping. I need you to pick Isaiah and Jordan from practice at 4. My keys are in my bed under my pillow. Be safe and call when you pick them up. Love you Kay.

I loved driving but I hated picking up my little brothers from football practice. I went up stairs to my room and laid across my bed. All I could think about was when I would get a text from Malik. I kicked my shoes off and changed into spandex shorts and a tank top and headed downstairs. I Bluetooth connected my phone to the sound system in the living room so I could play music and clean at the same time. Music just made things go by a little faster. When I got done with the dishes and sweeping the floor I flopped down on the couch and checked my phone. I had 5 Instagram notifications, 7 twitter notifications and 13 messages. I unlocked my phone and clicked on messages to see it was Malik blowing me up with cute little pictures with the snapchat filters. I burst out laughing because he looked like a girl with the flower head band filter. It was cute though. I responded with laughing emojis and not even a whole minute went by and he texted me back "wyd shorty 🙃". Before I could even text him back he started calling me. I let it ring a couple times before I answered just because I'm petty.
"Hello" I answered.
"Waddup Makaaaaylaaa." He said stretching my name which made me giggle.
"Nothing. Just chilling about to go pick up my lil brothers from practice. What took you so long to text me?" I asked out of curiosity.
"I was with my boys and I ain't wanna text you and then have you waiting for a response for a couple hours. I'm sorry." He said in a sweet voice.
"Oh okay. Well were you having fun?" I asked trying to start conversation.
"Of course. It's never a dull moment with my niggas." He said as if they have the best time in the world.
"I bet, well I'm about to leave so I'll call you when I get back home."
"Aii, you better." He said and then hung up. I ran upstairs and put my black Air Forces on, went into my grandmas room got the keys from under her pillow and headed back downstairs. I grabbed 2 cold gatorades and headed out to the garage. I started the car, put my phone on the aux, and pulled out.Malik
"Aye Just, we gone drop you off at the crib cuh. I gotta head in." I said getting back into Teeko's car. We had been at the mall for 3 hours straight spending money on pointless shit.
"Man I need to smoke like now." Teeko said signaling for me to roll up.
"Nigga you better tell Justin to cough up $10." I snapped back. As Teeko pulled out the parking spot Justin tapped my shoulder passing me up $20.
"You want 10 back?" I asked.
"Nah, it's straight cuh."
I bust down a roll up and broke the weed down with a grinder and quickly rolled the blunt.King
I hit the punching bag one last time before sitting down on my bench press to wipe my sweat. Instead of fighting and looking for bigger issues I escape my anger with boxing. I have anger issues and I have to deal with it my self. Growing up without a mother, a father, and anyone to support me I never depended on anybody except myself. I never asked anybody for shit. I never needed anybody for shit and I'm going to keep in that way. I picked my phone up from the floor and began to scroll on Instagram just to see Malik and his flunky Teeko on live. I didn't want to join their live to be nosy but something made me do it anyway. They weren't doing anything or saying anything entertaining. Just smoking and talking to the girls that were commenting so I clicked off. As I continued scrolling down my TL my mind wondered off to Makayla. Her beautiful brown smooth skin. Her pearly white teeth. Her bright meaningful smile. Everything about her put smiles and smirks across my face. I got up from the bench and walked up the stairs from the basement. I went to my room, turned on ESPN and then walked into my bathroom. I got in then shower to handle my business and then got out. I tied a towel around my waist and stood in the mirror looking at the body art on my body. I made a snapchat video before putting my clothes on. I walked back into my bedroom and put my phone on the charger. I tied my hair up into a ponytail and then dropped my towel. I got dressed in grey sweat pants and a black wife beater then I laid across my bed. I was in for the day.

"Yo cousin, I'm tired of taking ya money man. Either you need to stop playing or stop playing against me." I said laughing while plugging up my play station 4 controller. Teeko and I had been playing 2k17 for money since we came back from the mall.
"Shut the hell up man. You still ass." He said getting up from the edge of my bed stretching.
"I'm bout to get up outta here. Ima let you cupcake with them lil high school hoes cousin. BYE MRS. HOLT. He said walking out my room towards the front door. We dabbed each other up and then he left. I locked all 5 locks and peeped out the side window to make sure he drove off safe. I then walked back in my room and laid across my bed. My eyes started to get heavy so I got up and took my clothes off. I put my weed, scale, and money in my dresser drawer then walked to my window and peeped out clutching the trigger. I couldn't sleep until I felt safe. Once I seen none was outside I got in my bed and put my gun under my pillow and slowly but surely fell asleep.
