It was an instant connection,
The one you and I had;
But it ended in rejection,
Making my heart shatter and sad.
We were bound to be together,
That was known from the start;
But you loved someone better,
Friends till death do us part.
I fell deeper and deeper,
Into the truth and the lie.
You were beautifully made,
That I couldn't deny.
What I feel deep inside,
I will never confess.
You have managed to break me,
I am now such a mess.
Friendship isn't a bad thing,
Not for you nor for me;
Now I can't help but think,
That we were never meant to be.
