"He's going here huh..." Shikadai mumbles as he watches Boruto and his group walk over to them
"Shikadai, are you even sure this is the correct answer?" Chocho asks as she munches on her chips
"Nope" Shikadai mumbles bluntly "But knowing dad and Sai-ojisan..." He mumbles as the ground beneath them breaks as they fall down, Shikadai grunts as he quickly attaches his shadow, attaching to Inojin and Chocho as he throws a kunai from his pouch. The kunai pierces the wall as he teleports the group over, hanging onto the kunai and the wall
"Seems like Boruto barely got saved..." Inojin stammers as Shikadai saw Sarada catches Boruto as Mitsuki holds onto the two of them
"I knew it..." Shikadai mumbles as he glances at Boruto
"Your Hiraishin no Jutsu sure is handy Shikadai" Chocho mumbles as Shikadai throws a kunai toward the ground and teleports them onto the ground while the other genin climb up
"Seems like you made it Shikadai" A boy grins as he and his group walks toward them
"You made it too... Those sands sure comes in handy..." Shikadai mumbles as he chuckles and they left
"Who were those Sunagakure kids?" Chocho asks
"My troublesome cousin and his teammates..." Shikadai mumbles as he puts his hands behind his head and walk toward the stage where he sees his dad watching him
"Boruto?" Mirai asks as she stops Shikadai's kunai with her chakra blade "But hearing what your first round was like, I doubt Boruto can do it without Sarada's help" She smiles as Shikadai jumps back
"Well... For a while... I saw Boruto holding onto his arm and point down like this..." Shikadai mumbles as he reenacts what he saw during the exam
"Hm... He's training with Sasuke-san right now right?" Mirai asks as Shikadai nods
"I heard from Sarada that he learnt the Rasengan..." Shikadai mumbles as Mirai smiles
"How about we train and find ways to counter it? I'm sure you'll pass the second round with flying colors" Mirai smiles
"Hai" Shikadai nods as Shinki watches from the tree
"Shinki... I don't think you should spy on his training..." Araya mumbles
"Yeah..." Shinki mumbles as the two of them left
~Few days later
"Boruto's up Shikadai" Mirai smiles as Shikadai walks over to the railing
"I should watch for..." Shikadai mumbles as he saw Boruto throwing a shuriken as it curves, scratches the bubble and Yurui falls back after the explosion "H-How can he curved it..."
"Sasuke-san did train him" Mirai smiles "And he's really good at kenjutsu"
"Even so..." He mumbles and watches Boruto "Tsk... I'll see it myself then..." He grumbles as Mirai chuckles
"But you're up against Yodo first up know" She chuckles
"I know..." Shikadai mumbles as he head to the stadium
"Next up is Nara Shikadai of Konohagakure against Uzumaki Boruto of Konohagakure!" Lee yells as Shikadai glares at Boruto
"Finally a battle against you Boruto... I expect no less of my rival" Shikadai grins as they get ready
"Begin!" Lee yells as they grab their kunai and clashes with each other
"Kage Bushin no Jutsu!" Boruto yells and creates multiple clones as Shikadai puts his hand together and Shikadai then controls his shadow to chase around Boruto's clone "There!" He yells as he jumps over a clone and dives down at Shikadai as Shikadai ducks down, dodging his palm, Boruto quickly gets up as Shikadai quickly changes his hand signs and Boruto then freezes "N-Ngh..." He grunts as he glances around and saw himself being trap in a huge shadow circle and the four shadow clones disappear in white smokes and the circle then shrinks down, connecting to the real Boruto
"It would be great if you give up now Boruto" Shikadai grins as he takes out a kunai as Boruto grunts
"H-Heh..." Boruto grins as Shikadai then looks at his hand and saw Boruto points his fingers down and multiple clones appear, surrounding Shikadai as Shikadai looks around
"W-What..." He grunts as he looks back at Boruto and saw him smiling "Boruto..." He sighs and glares at Boruto as Boruto looks at him
"Seems like he's not giving up..." Gaara smiles as he looks over at Naruto
"You're the one who will be giving up" Shikadai glares as he takes out multiple kunai and throws it around them
"W-What are you..." Boruto stammers as his clones then charge at Shikadai as Shikadai puts his finger into the Sign of Confrontation and teleports himself away
"W-What the..." Naruto stammers as Shikamaru widens his eyes, the clones then disappears one by one as Shikadai slashes at them as he teleports everywhere, Boruto then freezes as Shikadai appears behind him, pointing his kunai near his neck
"S-Shikadai..." Boruto grunts as he disappears in white smokes in front of Shikadai
"W-What..." Shikadai grunts as Boruto appears behind Shikadai and charges at him
"Rasengan!" Boruto yells as he forms an orb on is palm and charges at Shikadai, Shikadai then throws a kunai toward Boruto as he ducks down, Shikadai then teleports himself above Boruto to where the kunai is, he grabs onto his kunai and flings one of them, cutting Boruto's sleeve
"Kagemane no Jutsu" Shikadai grunts as his shadow charges at Boruto, stopping him as Boruto grunts, Shikadai then carefully lifts up his hand as Boruto reluctantly follows, the ripped sleeve then roll down, revealing the ninja tool on his wrist
"W-What?" Naruto grunts
"Lee-san, please look at his wrist..." Shikadai said as Lee walks over and looks at Boruto's wrist
"Uzumaki Boruto have been found to used an illegal tool for the Chuunin Exam and he is disqualified! The winner is Nara Shikadai!" Lee yells as Shikadai lets go of Boruto and Naruto then jumps down
"I'm disappointed of you Boruto..." Shikadai mumbles as he put his hands in his pockets and walks away

I am trying my best to develop Boruto and Shikadai's relationship to the fullest ^^ From rival to a friendly rival and of course best friends with their amazing teamwork! I'll try to update Chapter 5 around Sunday or in 2 weeks since I have exams next week. Hope you enjoy my shi***ty work xD

"You what?" Shikamaru stammers as Temari almost drop the food
"Man... We've been looking for you Boruto-kun" Sarada mumbles
"Haha! Did I got you Shikadai?" Shikamaru laughs "Man... I got you, look at that face you made" He laughs "Oi Temari-chan! I got our son good!"
