Psyche heard the door of the cell she had been locked into open. Eu came in, carrying a plate with some water and basic food on it. 'I still can't believe why we don't just kill you', he said. 'That would be much more easy for everyone. Do you know how expensive food is these times?'
'It's not like you guys give me haute cuisine', Psyche responded ironically. After Aphron had broken into her house with his two companions, Eu and Ophelimos, she had been tied up with anti-magic chains and locked up into this empty, bare, grey and dark room. The ceiling looked like it could break anytime and the walls were full of cracks.
'Does that mean it can't be expensive? And in addition, I have to feed you because you can't eat yourself because of those chains. It swallows a lot of my time, you know. Now, open your mouth so I can get out of here already.'
Eu picked up a fork, loaded it full of a blubbery-looking salad, and stuffed it into Psyche's mouth. With some moaning, she chewed and swallowed it. 'That's a good girl. This was home-made by me. I hope you at least like it.'
Ignoring the question of the sarcastic man before her, Psyche asked him: 'How is Phoneus doing?' He was what she was most worried about right now. She had not even seen him one time since he left with Aphron for this stupid training of his. Taking all the guilt on her own shoulders, Psyche sincerely believed it was because she had not given him a sufficient explanation that he had gone to the bad side.
Eu only laughed. 'Still not over him? You must have experienced something there, that you not even now have given up on him. Don't you worry, he's just fine. The only thing that's maybe wrong is that he might have taken such a liking to us, that he isn't planning to ever joining you again. Don't you like that?' This stupid explanation was followed by an evil laugh.
Although he clearly wanted to keep her attention from Phoneus, Psyche at least was reassured now. She continued eating without saying a single word. A few moments later, after Psyche had eaten and drunk all that Eu had prepared for her, Eu suddenly came closer to Psyche, with an erotic look in his ugly, green eyes. His face was so close to hers, that his blonde hairs hung in her beautiful, blue eyes, the contrary of Eu's, preventing her from seeing anything. He then pressed his lips against Psyche's, kissing her as long till he had no breath left.
'Well then, it's not like you had any choice, but at least you gave me a reward for my doing. Prepare for the next time I come. If you do well, maybe I'll grant you some privileges.' Eu walked away, humming happily. On the contrary, Psyche tried to spit all of his saliva out of her mouth. She found the guy disgusting. He was ugly and had no common sense. And if that was what she had to do for some privileges, she would rather just stay here the rest of her life.
The humming faded slowly. When Psyche did not hear anything of it anymore, she relaxed, trying to sleep, when suddenly she heard footsteps running her way. Of course you understand she thought that it was that pervert of an Eu coming back, but before her eyes, she saw that a large guy wearing a high hat and suit had come in. His eyes and ears were not visible because of the shadow of his hat. His face was rather pale. He stretched out his hands, touching the chains were they were attached to Psyche's wrists. They became red-hot, but strange enough, Psyche felt nothing. The chains just melted away.
Once done with her arms, he freed her legs the same way. Psyche tried to speak, fearing she might be taken to be sentenced to death anyway, but as soon as she opened her mouth, the man prevented all sound from coming out by putting his hand against it. 'Don't talk', he whispered. 'I'm here to save your ass. Just trust me.'
When Psyche was all set free, she wanted to hit the man, but the last just made a strange movement, after which her arm was pulled back completely. Psyche could not get her hand any closer. 'Don't make any sound, you. I don't want them to come after me. That would be such a pain. If you try anything that will make too much noise again, I'll put you to sleep and kinda kidnap you, understood!?'
'Yes, yes...', Psyche mumbled.
'My name is Seb. I know you are Psyche. Follow me, we're not complete just yet. We first have to get someone else before we can get away from this horrible place. Now, be silent and do exactly what I say.'
Psyche did not understand any of it, but she decided to do as the man said. Anything was better than to have to stay here with that creepy Eu. Seb pointed out that she had to follow directly in his tread.
As the two ran through the corridors, Psyche started begging and kept begging that they would get out in one piece. When she was led in here, she had seen this place crawling from soldiers, all Kratistoi and Kallistoi. They had no way to defend against all of that. But surprisingly, everything went smoothly. With Seb's guidance, they got outside in not even five minutes.
Breathing fresh air for the first time in forever, she listened to Seb, who was saying: 'We're not done yet, Psyche. You can't talk freely here just yet. Firstly we're going to look for someone who should be hanging around here somewhere.'
'Who? I don't know anyone I want to be with now. Why can't I just go away?'
'Just you do what I say! I know what's good for both of us!!'
'Prove it.'
After these words, Seb took off his hat and showed his eyes and ears to Psyche. 'Are you persuaded now?'
