Eu watched Aphron being lectured by those two idiots. Ha, they had not even grasped the fact that Aphron had planned this all out beforehand. But it bothered him that he was not allowed to help him if Aphron was put in a tight spot. Not that he cared much anyway, Aphron could kill them easily if he wanted to, but it was just that he found it humiliating for his boss to be tied to a chair, and his instinct told him to go help him. Eu hoped it would be over fast, and that he would not have to miss the end of it. He checked the time. It was 2.59 PM. He had to go, or he would be too late. Aphron had ordered him to depart at exactly 3 PM and go after Psyche and Seb, namely.
Psyche had become really irritated now. She had already been walking for over 12 hours, with not five minutes to rest, except for that little side issue. She had promised Seb not to complain, but it really had become too much. She decided to give it a shot and ask Seb to rest for half an hour, when suddenly he stopped walking. They had been walking alongside a stone wall and he had just wanted to turn around a corner. 'Ssst,' said Seb. 'Someone's coming this way.'
Psyche was confused by his words and looked the way Seb had pointed out. It was true that she heard footsteps coming to them, but why did they have to be silent? It could not be thát special to be walking around here, could it? But she decided to obey Seb and stayed silent. The footsteps came closer, until ultimately someone showed up. He looked directly our way, as if he knew our location. 'Hello,' said the man. 'My name is Eu. I'm one of the personal guards of the third-in-rank of the Kallistoi, mister Aphron, my cool, glorious, humble boss.'
Seb gesticulated to Psyche to let him lead the conversation and try to hide somewhere, maybe Eu had not seen her yet. He did not even need to tell Psyche, she did so herself, fearing the man that had brought so much shame upon her. 'What do you want from us?' he said. 'We are just simple people, wanting to make a tour around.'
'I don't want anything from you, dear mister Seb. It's the girl behind us that I want. You see, she was my little slave, and I would gladly take her back from you. She ran away and apparently began to bother you. Or is that not how it went? I wonder. I am ailing with my memory these days, you know. When you get a little older, you'll have that too, my dear Seb,' said Eu with that vulgar smile of his painted all over his face. Psyche got more and more the creeps of this guy.
'Firstly, how do you know my name? And secondly, your memory can't possibly be bad enough that you do not remember that this girl was not your slave but your prisoner. You took her illegally, piece of shit,' Seb answered. Psyche found his explanation epic, and to the point. A piece of shit, that was exactly what that Eu was. But still she did not want to get that shit angry. He did not have such a high position on the social ladder for nothing, you know.
Eu laughed. 'I know everything. That's all you need to know, piece of crap. Now, are you willing to give Psyche to me or do I have to take her using violence, huh? I wonder if you'll even have a chance.' There it was. Eu had gotten angry. Psyche did not want him to fight Seb in the slightest. Although he had not been very friendly to her, she had still taken a liking to him and did not want him to die just yet. But maybe she was underestimating him? No, then he would not have slipped in that carefully, then he would just have killed everyone.
'Don't you know I'm the rumored half blood, asshole? I thought you knew everything? I can take on a whole army on my own without even a scratch remaining with me, just so you know.' He took off his high hat to show Eu his red eyes and long ears. Psyche knew for sure that Seb was lying.
Eu grimaced. 'Huh, everyone can put up contact lenses and false ears. It may be that you are strong, but you're still a faker. There is not one person alive who believes half bloods can really exist. But I know for sure you are no match for me. Not at all.' Psyche believed him. Now she touched Seb, looked in his eyes as if trying to tell him 'Don't, Seb! You'll die!' but without words, meanwhile heavily nodding at what Eu had to say. Although she did not want to be locked up again.
Seb laughed it off. 'If you believe so, then let's test who is strongest, here and now!'
Eu approved it directly. 'Just what I was thinking.'
Seb made the first move. He jumped forward and summoned a knife out of nowhere, trying to stab Eu in his neck. But the latter summoned water and let it hit Seb's stomach. Seb fell and Eu grabbed his katana, wanting to pierce Seb's heart. But he just shrunk the katana to the size of a bread crumble, rendering it useless. He then stopped Eu's arm movement and Eu reacted by making plants grow on the surface that grabbed Seb's feet and he apparently tried to make him fall. But Seb made the mass of the plants shrink till they were so weak he could just shake them off. He stopped Eu's leg movement, gave him back his arm movement, only to try to cut them off. But Eu summoned water again and tried to slice Seb's knife with it. It indeed fell, but Seb immediately summoned another one. Eu then did one last try to shrink the mass of the knife, but as his magic was weaker than Seb's, it did not work. The last thing he tried was making an illusion to deceive Seb, but Seb made it disappear. Finally Seb stood behind Eu, who had the knife against his throat, asking him if he still had some last words.
'No,' said Eu, his voice resolute. 'Just kill me already.' And Eu's throat was sliced open, and he was in the past. 'Wow, that one was weak,' Seb said. 'Might as well just have used temperature at the beginning and he couldn't have done anything to counter it.'
Psyche was astonished by Seb's power. She had really underestimated Seb. But she did not get much time to think about why he had sneaked in to free her and not just rushed in. But that would probably remain a mystery forever, because before she could ask, a new voice sounded. 'Yo,' a woman said. 'My name is Sophronuste and I happen to be Eu's wife.'
