"Dad? Uhm there's something I need to tell you, it's important." I announce in a shaky voice, as I fidget with my necklace.

"Kaylie, honey what's wrong?" he questions, taking in my nervousness.

"Dad, you have to promise me not to get mad. Please, promise me you wont get mad, if you get mad it will only make the situation worse." I tell him with a shaky voice, doing my best to control my breathing.

"Honey, you know I can never and I mean never be mad at anything you have to tell me. Now what is it?" He replies in a sincere voice, concern washing over his face.

Tears spill from my eyes, and it becomes increasingly more difficult to control my breathing. In a matter of minutes, dad is kneeling on his knees beside me trying to get me to look at him.

"Kaylie, honey, you need to calm down. Come on sweetie, take some deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Everything's going to be okay." My dad says in a quiet, gentle voice. All the while remembering what my therapist taught him about how to calm me down during one of my attacks. That's what I've always loved about my dad, no matter what he was/is always there for the ones he loved. Whenever one of us was hurt or sick he was the one who nursed us back to health, he's the one who supports us in everything we do, all our performance's, all our sporting events, and he's the only one who took time off of work to be with me when I first got diagnosed with depression and anxiety; from every therapy appointment to every hospital stay, he was there no matter what time of day it was.

As I sit there at the kitchen table listening to my dads soothing voice, and doing as he was telling me to, I feel the tears slow down, my quickened breath starting to slow and my heart no longer feels like it's about to beat out of my chest. Turning to face my dad I take this as my chance to tell my dad what happened before I have another anxiety attack or I back down.

"When me and Jayson went to get the cases of water from his car, h-h-he pinned me against the car an-and he raped me." I utter in a quiet, shaky voice as I start to regret ever deciding to tell someone. I mean seriously, why couldn't I have just kept my mouth and went along like nothing happened. I mean honestly that would be way better than having to talk about it.

Next thing I know I'm snapped out my thoughts by my dad getting in my face, screaming.

"Why would you make up a lie like that?! You know damn well that Jayson would never do something like that to you or to anyone for that matter, he's not like that. He's always protected you!" I lean back in the chair I'm sitting in, in an attempt to get away from him but instead I only fall out of the chair landing on the floor with a thud. Once again my breathing picks up and I have to fight the tears that want to fall from my eyes; what happened to my dad, the dad that was so loving, so caring, what happened to him? I don't like this, this monster at all. I think to my self as my dad continues to scream and carry on. Profanities spew from his mouth as if he was a sailor and I can't help but to wish I was dead.

"Dad? Kaylie? What in Gods name is going on in here? I could hear y'a... Oh my fucking god Kaylie!" Delilah shrieks, as she rushes to my aid. Helping me up she wraps her arms around my body that is violently shaking.

"Delilah, you need to leave right this instant. This is between me and that worthless whore Kaylie." My dad sneers through his teeth as he walks towards us, his hands clenched in fists down at his side.

"No dad, I refuse to leave Kaylie here alone with you! I don't know what the hell is going on but whatever it is, Kaylie's about to pass out because of it. So can you maybe calm the fuck down and lets sit down as a family and discuss whatever in the hell has happened that made you so pissed off?" Delilah replies in a stern voice, that sends chills down my spine. Tightening her arms around me she leads me over to the kitchen table and sits down with me in her lap, all the while never letting go of me.
