In a daydream, I couldn't live like this/ I wouldn't stop until I found something beautiful/ When I wake up, I know I will have/ No, I still won't have what I need
-Something Beautiful by NEEDTOBREATHE
After pulling on the extremely tight fitting ‘jeans’ and ‘tank top,’ I slipped on the ‘hoodie’ and went back to where Sarah was waiting, frowning.
“Why do you all wear such tight clothes…” I muttered. This was nothing like my dress, and I wasn’t quite sure I liked it. She just laughed.
“Because it’s popular now? I don’t know. Either way, they look good on you. You can keep them if you promise not to wear that old dress and cloak anymore.”
“But I like those!”
“No buts. My house, my clothes, my rules. And Sarah says no cloaks.”
“Fine.”
“Good. Now, I believe we have much to talk about.” She clasped her hands and headed off into another room, this one with several couches. “Make yourself comfortable. Mi casa es tu casa.” My house is your house. I took a seat, and she sat across from me.
“Now. How about you tell me what it is you want to talk to him about so that I can help you?” She asked, elbows on her knees, and I sighed.
“What do you know of him, before I begin?” I asked instead, and she thought for a moment.
“He dresses impeccably, knows way too much about the universe to be normal, and seems to have no name.” She summarized.
“Do you know where he is from?”
“He sounds British, but acts like he’s not from Earth at all.”
“That would be correct.”
“So he’s an alien…” She pondered that for a moment, worrying her lip. “Does that make you an alien?”
“Yes. Is that alright with you?” I raised my eyebrow, and she nodded.
“That’s fine, as long as you’re not planning to take over the universe.” She joked.
“Of course not.”
“Good. Just checking.” This she said rather seriously, taking me off guard. I was slightly offended she’d think I’d do something like that. But then again, her only real experience with aliens was one who wanted her planet…
“Well, now that that formality is taken care of, I can tell you why I am here.” I took a deep breath and began.
“I quite literally just came to Earth from our home planet. I ran away, like he did, and cannot go back. I left because I have no other family left, and decided that I would risk it and try to find where he went. That’s why I came here. Because what I was using told me was here. And it wasn’t wrong, just off by a few weeks. I need to find him as soon as possible. Partly because I know next to nothing about this planet, and mostly because he is my father.” I let that sink in, leaning back in my seat. She chewed on her lip, and then sighed.
“So I need to help an alien girl find her alien daddy, who saved me from my alien boyfriend and went off somewhere. That’s a lot to take in…” She groaned, and rubbed her temples.
“You don't need to do anything. I’m very thankful that you’ve been kind enough to take me in, but you don’t need to feel obliged to help me. In fact, I’m just about ready to leave again.”
“How? You don’t know where he is, or have a way to get there.” I grinned mischievously.
“How do you think I got here?” I asked as I reached down and activated my vortex manipulator. I used the same memory as last time, and it began triangulating. Sarah just looked down at it in confusion.
“What is that?” She asked incredulously, and I just gave her a small smile.
“I’m not allowed to tell you.” I admitted, and the stood. "Thank you Sarah Fisher for helping me get my bearings and allowing me to have some of your clothes. I appreciate your kindness, and it will not be forgotten. And maybe someday I’ll come back and visit with the Doctor.” I dipped my head in farewell, and she smiled. She stood as well.
“I’d like that. Tell him I said hi, and thanks again for getting rid of Brendan.” She told me with a grin, and I nodded, shaking the hand she offered me.
“I will. It was a pleasure meeting you.” And with that, the manipulator finished its triangulation, and with a deafening CRACK I was gone, leaving Sarah alone in her house, jaw hanging open in shock.
(A/N) I know ya'll are probably waiting for the Doctor to come in already, and it will be soon. As in, teo or three more until he makes a REAL appearance, though he may make a bit of a cameo a bit sooner... Hehe.
Also, I hope the song fits okay. This whole song thing is harder than I was expecting! But this song really is one of my favorites. I love NEEDTOBREATHE.
