6. Catch Me

A/N: This one is a little longer than usual but it was so fun to write. It's inspired by the song 'Catch Me' by Demi Lovato, it's a really cute song I linked it above so please listen to it while you read or before or after or whichever.

Lauren's POV
Arriving home after a long day at the studio, the last thing that I wanted to do was go out tonight, but Dinah was insisting that we all went out with her to meet up with an old friend of hers and some of her friends. All I wanted to do was to go to bed and sleep, but Dinah can be extremely stubborn and so I didn't really have any other choice but to get ready to head to a bar.

A few hours later we all arrived at a quite empty bar, that was surprisingly loud due to a group of 4 or 5 people our age in the corner playing drinking games and messing around. Dinah started shouting and ran over to one of the girls, leaving the rest of us standing there awkwardly waiting to be introduced to the group. Dinah and her friend failed to notice us waiting to be introduced, and instead one of the other girls came over. She was absolutely breathtaking, dressed in ripped jeans, an old Fleetwood Mac t-shirt and a flannel wrapped around her waist, I couldn't take my eyes off her, and completely missed her introductions, failing to hear any word that was coming out of her mouth, instead distracted by imagining what her skin would feel like underneath my fingertips. I felt a nudge in my side, Normani smirking at me knowingly,
'Her name is y/n, Dinah's friend is called Amy, the guy there is Matt, the other one Jay, and the other girl is Taylor okay? Next time you stare at her and miss what she's saying, I'll let you embarrass yourself. Although I think she is totally your type, and she was so checking you out too', Normani said as we went to join them at their table. I blushed at having been caught out and tried to compose myself before I reached the table.
'So who's drinking what?' the guy Jay said, 'Get whatever the hell you want, they're all on y/n tonight, we're celebrating'
'celebrating what?' Ally asked suspiciously, she didn't like it when we were all drinking and so was probably going to be the sober one out of all us tonight, because I definitely needed a drink to calm my nerves, which had skyrocketed since I'd seen y/n.
'Celebrating Matt's freedom, he broke up with his asshole boyfriend and so we are all most definitely celebrating', y/n answered, this time I actually took in what she was saying, and I became even more attracted to her by hearing her voice, it was like an angel was speaking to us. I think she noticed me looking at her because she winked in my direction, causing me to blush and look away quickly.

The rest of the night passed quickly, we played drinking games, and I even managed to have a few conversations with y/n without completely embarrassing myself. At the end of the night we all exchanged numbers, promising to meet up soon. Y/n got up saying goodbye's hugging us all, and eventually hugged me, nothing had ever felt so right in my whole life, and I never wanted to let go. Before we did break apart she whispered 'see you round Jauregui' in my ear, causing goosebumps to spread like wildfire over my skin, and I think that may have been the moment when I knew she was unlike any person I had ever met before.

~ a few days later ~

I had the day off from recording and decided to head out in the afternoon for a walk around the city, it was easy to forget the beauty of the place where you lived so I tried to get out as much as possible to appreciate it. I had been walking for around an hour when I spotted y/n in the park, taking pictures and looking so carefree. She caught me staring at her again and started to walk over, I really did need to learn how to be less obvious.

'Hey y/n, I didn't know you were a photographer' I said pointing towards her camera.
'I'm not really, I just like to do it when I have some spare time, how are you?'
'I'm good thanks, just taking a few hours out you know relaxing a little'
