Maura POV

Let me tell you something. When a nutcase like me tells you not to fuck with someone, listen. Jackson didn't, he caused me all kinds of pain, but then he did it in front of Aiden. I don't know how to take what happened next. I made a whimper of pain after Jackson grabbed me and then all of a sudden a smack happened and his grip was off me, not necessarily in that order. I looked and Aiden was on top of him and was beating the shit out of him. He was hitting him with short and fast swings like he was trained to fight. Blood was on his knuckles and it wasn't just Jackson's. The crew and I started trying to pull Aiden off of Jackson. It took all four of us, and Riley. He turned and looked at me, and he was in a state that was like a wolf in a corner or like a mother bear when her cub is threatened. His eyes kinda widened as they came back to reality and then he dripped his arms and everyone let go. Then he ran to the hall way. Riley was helping up Jackson and I ran after Aiden. I found him back at his room with his knees brought up to his chest and he was crying. And go to the door and the floor creaked. "Maura." He practically whispered. I looked at his knuckles, busted open and bleeding steadily. He looked up at me and he had the look of someone who was truly frightened. "I've never been bothered by that in that way." he said. "I just heard you in pain and I just lost my shit. I couldn't think of anything other than don't touch her." he continued ranting. It's weird he protected me like he'd known me for years, and he just met me and I was being kind of a bitch because of Jackson. That bastard just makes me so mad, acting like I'm his property. But Aiden, he gave me that look that just makes you feel happy and cared about. I sat down next to him and gave him a hug. He squeezed me tight and then released, and stood up and helped me up as well. "What time do classes start?" he asked curiously. I looked at the clock on his nightstand. "In about five minutes." I replied. I knew his schedule because Riley asked me to make sure he went to class and didn't beat the shit out of people in class. Too late on the last one. "You are lucky that I have your classes." I told him. He nodded in agreement, not looking at me. He went over and grabbed his bag, and then a strange object out of his drawer. It was circular in shape and about as big as my thumb. It was a fancy thing, had some fancy engraving and was jade in color. After looking at it for a moment he put it back and walked out of the room and waited for me in the hall. We were in the hall, walking towards class when I actually studied him. He had long dark hair that looked untamed, and he had angular facial features. I couldn't determine his eye color though, they seemed to change. We got to class, and I went to my seat. He stood there for a minute and just went to the back of the room and took a seat. I quickly went over to where he was and made him follow me to where me and the crew sit. The rest of the crew got there and I decided introductions were in order, only after everyone was giving me awkward stares.

Aiden POV

"Alright well, this is the crew." she said looking at me. She pointed to a guy with short dark hair that had blue dye on the tips. "That's Tyler." She pointed to a girl with purple hair. "This is Reyna." She pointed to a guy with mostly red hair. "And that's Luke." She then pointed to me. "Crew this is Aiden, the new kid, he's from Brooklyn." When she finished saying that Tyler's head perked up. "Brooklyn, huh?" he said. I nodded in reply. "Where did u go to school before this?" he asked. "James Madison High." I said. "Dawson?" he asked starting to smile. I nodded and he busted out laughing. "That prank you did on Mr. Mitchell was priceless!" he said. "Tyler Michaels, you smug son of a bitch, that you?" I said. He nodded and we fist bumped. I was friends with this guy until he moved. Or at least I thought he moved. The rest of the class period which was English, we did nothing at all. We sat and talked, and nothing else. I got to know the crew, and they were starting to get to be my friends. The bell rang, and we left. After we got out in the hall, I started looking around and immediately found Maura. She flashed me a smile. I don't know what this girl is doing to me. Ever since I met this girl, she has had some kind of control over me. I don't know what the fuck is going on. then again when was the last time I did.

Maura POV

I flashed Aiden a smile. His eyes kind of sparkled with joy. He returned one and honestly it made me feel happy. Then Aiden, Tyler, and I walked to our next class, which was Government. Tyler sat on the opposite side of the class and offered Aiden a seat at his table. Surprisingly, he declined, he just found an empty seat in a table by himself. Then, unfortunately Aiden, the teacher called him out. "Aiden Dawson, can you come up here please?" he said. Then the teacher, Mr. MacAfee, whispered something in his ear. Aiden nodded, and then went to where he was sitting and grabbed his stuff. Mr. MacAfee gave him a pass, and he left. The class continued on and I didn't see Aiden come back. Third period was Biology 2 and that went as it always does long but not frustrating. Last period, I got called out of the class Algebra 2, and was to report to the Guidance Office. When I got in to the office, there were two people with their backs to me, and the counselor facing me. "Maura, glad you could join us." the counselor said. I passed the figure on the right to get the side chair beside them when they spoke. "Hey babe." I stopped and turned and grabbed the one beside the other figure. I was not gonna sit beside Jackson. Then I looked at Jackson. He had a bandage around his eyebrow, a very discolored jaw. I looked to the figure in front of me, and I finally could tell who it was. Even though his features were very recognizable, his hair was very thickly in front of his face so it was hard to see his face. But I could see a cut above his eyebrow, and how he was cradling right arm. "Now lets get started. I understand there was a fight this morning?" he asked and I chuckled drawing attention to myself. "I don't know if you can call it that, considering fight means, both sides were exchanging hits, and stood an equal chance of winning." Aiden chuckled and I lightly punched his arm, his good one. "Now can someone please describe to me the events of what happened in the hall way shortly after second period?" he asked. I gave him a funny look. "There was an incident between Jackson and Aiden in the hallway, including several others including Garrett." he continued. Why can't Jackson just not be an asshole for a day? With that Garrett came into the office and sat down next to Jackson and they fistbumped and started celebrating or something. "Guess you can't through that right hook now can you?" Garrett taunted. Aiden stood up quickly turned and leaned across Jackson and gave Garrett a left, knocking him out again. "Ambidextrous, you asshole." he said. Then he sat back down and stared at the ground intently. Jackson started laughing and started talking, "This asshole was walking around, and then Garrett and I got even." he said barely controlling his laughter. "Oh I almost forgot the part where we took his precious right hook, and his ring and fucked them up." he said. "What ring?" I asked. "Don't worry about it babe." he started. "Don't you ever call me babe. Now I asked you a question I suggest you answer it." I said. He knew when I would beat the shit out of him and then he chose to answer. "We took his little silver ring, the one that had a blue rock on the top of it, and we took it outside and put out in the road, and made him watch it after we beat the shit out of him and broke his right arm, as we ran over it, with a truck. Its flattened and we through it in the trash where it belongs-" he said as Aiden cut him off with such rage, it was frightening. Aiden pulled him out of the chair and hit him and kept hitting him and started screaming. "You shut your fucking mouth, you son of a bitch, or I'll kill you!" he yelled. Riley came in and got him out of there. I left to go check on him and he was sitting on the floor, crying and I sat down next to him and he explained. "It was my mom's ring. She died about two years ago, brain cancer. She was the only one that cared." he said. I got him to his room and he got onto the bed. "You going to be okay?" I asked. "Yeah." he said. And then I left.
