Maura POV
I froze. I slowly turned around to find Jackson, with Garrett all staring at me like I was fresh meat. I started to walk away when all of a sudden a hand was on my shoulder, and I was spun around facing Jackson. He kissed me and I was completely disgusted. I shoved him away and slapped him, hard. I mean sound echoes throughout the cafeteria and everyone stops what they're doing hard. He grunted and went to back hand me when all of a sudden his eyes were wide with fear along with Garrett's. I turned and there he was. Aiden was standing there with two sharpened wooden pencils. Damn this kid could scare people. He walked up to me and I was immediately swept behind him. He was in a stare down with two guys, both his size, both extremely intimidating, and he was unphased. Then more footsteps echoed across the cafeteria and Tyler was there beside him with two pencils of his own. Then Reyna was here beside me. This was a sight, the six most intimidating and absolutely insane people in the school were right here about to fight, but it was more like two of them getting stabbed by two others. Jackson and Garrett backed out and went to the hallway. Aiden and Tyler stood there for a second before turning around. "Are you ok?" "Are you hurt?" Tyler and Reyna started bombarding me with questions. Aiden just stared at me. Ok maybe not stared, because that's creepy and he wasn't being creepy, but he stared. He then handed me a folded piece of paper, which the only people that noticed were me, Tyler, Reyna, and him because everyone else was minding their business. I went and sat down at the table and watched as everyone followed but not everyone stayed. Aiden left, he went to the hallway. I then read his note thing.
Dear Maura,
Thank you for being for me these past few hours, it feels like days but it has only been hours. You know I'm here if you need me. I'm not good with words, so I'm going to cut the bullshit. I'm not going to lie either. When I'm around you, everything changes, all I care about is you being happy and safe. I have never felt this way about anyone before, and honestly, it kind of scares me. I would like to talk to you about this so I left so you'd know where to find me without me having to explain in front of Tyler because he would never let me forget it. That and I have a surprise for you.
From,
Aiden
I read it again before I started heading out to where I knew he'd be. I left the lunch room and was heading down the hallway when I was grabbed from behind. Then Tyler and Reyna ran out and were chasing after me. Tyler caught up to me and pried me loose from whoever had me. When I turned around, surprise, surprise it was Jackson. I need him in the balls and continued to walk towards Aiden's room. I heard the water running, when I entered. "Who are you?" he yelled from the bathroom. "Its me." I said. "Hold on." I heard the shower cutting off and then I saw him. His head was dripping black and was mostly dirty blonde. I looked at him with curiosity and waited for him to explain.
Aiden POV
She stared at me in curiosity. "This is the real me." I said. She looked at me one last time and then spoke. "You had your hair dyed? I couldn't tell." she said. I nodded and then towel dried my hair and got the rest of the black out. I had my jeans and undershirt back on but not my school shirt I didn't want to fuck that up just yet. "Did you mean what you wrote." she asked. I didn't even hesitate. "Every word." Then she did the one thing I didn't expect.
Maura POV
"Every word." he said, without hesitation. I then walked up to him and kissed him. After I pulled away he sat there for about a second before he looked at me and then he kissed me back, softly and gently. And I wanted to stay like that all day before two things happened. One was we remembered we weren't alone. The second was the bell sounded for class. We smiled at each other and we went to class. I wonder how long this good day is going to last.
