Newt sipped his tea as he looked about, searching for Tina. He was excited to see her again after the few long months without her.
"Hi." Tina said quietly as she approached Newt, who was sitting at a little table in a coffee shop.
"Hi." He smiled.
"Long time no see." She said.
"True, it has been a while." Newt agreed, seeming a bit awkward and nervous.
"So, how have you been? How's your book doing?" Tina asked, trying to break the ice.
"I've been well, the book is selling quite a bit, several copies have been made and sold.
"That's really good." She grinned. "How are your creatures?"
"Excellent, they're doing great." He responded. "Pickett still has some attachment issues though." He added, chuckling.
Tina giggled.
"So, how have you been? You've got your job back?" Newt inquired.
"Yeah, they've accepted me back into MACUSA and I've got my job as an Auror back." She answered.
"That's great. Oh, and I almost forgot!" He remembered as he dug in his rather large pockets, pulling out a book titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
"Here." He smiled, handed her the book. "It's the first copy."
Tina gasped as her heart melted.
"Thank you, so much Newt." She sighed happily.
"You're welcome." He replied, a sweet tone in his voice.
"So, where are you gonna stay during your visit?" Tina asked him.
"Oh," Newt said, looking slightly shocked, as if the thought never crossed his mind. "I haven't really thought about it yet."
"Well, you can just stay with me and Queenie at our apartment, if you'd like." Tina suggested.
"I'd like that, very much." He said with a smile.
By then it was getting dark, and the sun was setting, illuminating the sky with beautiful hues of pink and orange. They both set off, Tina directing him to the apartment.
"So, how's Queenie been?" Newt asked.
"She's great, Jacob has his memory back, it's like he suddenly remembered everything. It was weird." Tina informed him.
Newt nodded to show he was listening. They finally reached the apartment and unlocked the door, signaling for Newt to enter.
"Newt!" Queenie shrieked excitedly as she wrapped him into a friendly hug.
"Hi, Queenie." He greeted her heartily.
"Oh, I'm so glad to see you again! It's been so long!" Queenie exclaimed.
Newt smiled awkwardly as Tina showed him to his room.
"Hey, d'you wanna come in the case?" He offered, gesturing to his case.
"Sure." Tina said as Newt unlocked the case.
He beckoned her inside once he climbed down the ladder. Tina followed him into the case, looking around, admiring his case full of creatures.
"I've got to feed them, wanna help?" Newt asked.
"Okay!" Tina replied eagerly.
Newt handed her a bucket of food and instructed her to give it to the mooncalves. Tina skipped along up the little hill, scattering the food around for them. A grin of true happiness was spread across her face. She was so absorbed with the mooncalves that she didn't even notice Newt looking at her and smiling. He couldn't believe what he was thinking, but he was glad that Queenie wasn't there to read his mind. He loved Tina, he admired everything about her. Newt enjoyed her company, he appreciated her. He loved her because she understood him, she didn't judge, that's why Newt loved his creatures so, because they accepted him for who he was. He finally broke his stare as she returned from feeding the mooncalves.
"I better get going now, I have am early work day tomorrow, and I don't want to wake up late." Tina announced.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow then." Newt smiled.
"G'night, Newt." She grinned.
Newt meant to say goodnight, but instead he said "Tina, wait."
"Yeah, Newt?"
Newt approached her slowly, cupped her cheek, and leaned in to kiss her. At first, Tina was shocked, but she soon closed her eyes and began kissing him back. His tongue caressed hers as he passionately kissed her for a while. They just stood in the middle of his case, chest to chest, their arms wrapped around each other's waist. Newt couldn't believe what he had just did. It was an immediate impulse, but he was glad it happened. He enjoyed her soft lips against his and caressing each other's tongue. At this point he knew that she was the one. He truly loved Tina Goldstein.
